I was having a massive go at my dad at the weekend saying throw away comments like if we go down dont think I will buy another season ticket, which is utter rubbish he has had one for about 19 years and wouldnt dream of not going.

So we got talking that if we went down would people still go and if so what would make them come back. I basically said if we went down and Turner satyed in his role our attendances would drop like Darlo's and we would be in serious trouble.

If the worst happens (and I dont think it will) we have to do the following:

Get New manager first and fore most
Get rid of older players (Humps etc) who are over the hill
Get rid of majority of high wage earners
Give more young players a chance
We have a backbone of players (Brown, sweeny, clark, Lange is fit and stays, jones) that are good enough for a drop in league.

was just wondering if we went down would everyone still go, and if people on here would seriously consider leaving what change would result in your returning

I'd be there whatever happens.

But if things keep on going the way they are for the next 5 years, I think we'll have a set of very glum supporters.

I know wsome people dont like this, as many have their heads stuck firmly up the clubs arse.....but....the club have already lost hundreds of fans over the past 12 months......and I know for a fact that many others are saying they arent renewing their season tickets regardless.

You only have to talk to people outside your HUFC comfort zones to know this.

Some never do that though. So they think evereyone is like them.

Wwell they arent. I dont know why, other than sticking with Wilson too long, and a very clear lack of investment in the team, why the apathy is as bad as it is.

It genuinely amazes me that the club didnt realise that spending zero on team improvements in the summer would have an influence on the crowds.

These are intelligent people afterall.

I used to think that.

So did probably a lot of the people about whom Mr ADG is referring.

Exactly.

But as soon as some posts......"I will go regardless"....you just know they arent going to listen to reason.

why wont i listen to reason? All i said is its like a marriage for me. Through good times and bad, in sickness and in health til death do we part. Thats what going to pools is like for me. Its love. But im always open to a reasoned debate unlike some who wont ever admit they are wrong...

Bail out when it gets tough, don't make me laugh, bail out when it gets shoite and stays shoite more like.

How IOR thought zero investment would get us through, in our centennary season, beggars belief, jesus we were crap the season previously and barely survived.

ADG is right, we won't get fooled again.

I've been going since 1968 and had the very bad times and some good but I feel like ADG. I am certainly questioning my position I feel a comodity not a supporter at the moment. Years ago even though we were rubbish you felt part of the place there was a sense of belonging but not at the moment. A very sad time at present. confised

Dont understand the comment about sence of belonging, I went during mick tait and also viv busby era when we were shocking and I felt in same position we are in now wouldnt call that belonging unless belonging is everone feeling the same down in the dumps etc so isnt the current climate the same as the old?

We talked about this yesterday. The position probably isnt different to how it was a few years ago. But it feels like it.

IOR keep saying the treat us like any of their businesses. They treat the players like they treat any employees. This seems to be wearing us all down.

When we had Neale Cooper, we had a manager that we trusted and loved. He said just the right things at just the right time. We all felt part of it. It was just a feeling.

IOR got rid of Cooper, and never told us why. Since then, its been all downhill for me. Prices have gone up alarmingly, investment in the team reached a new low last summer, and complicated deals and offers didnt really work.

Its all about perception. My perception is that I dont belong any more. I feel more like I do when I go to ASDA, rather than being a much needed fan. More like a much needed customer.

But it was probably never any different.

Agree with ADG been going to pools since 1964 and i'm seriously thinking of having a season off or picking my games.
I feel rightly or wrongly IOR have alienated me as a fan.

The sense of belonging is feeling that yuo are a supporter who feels valued by your club even in the dark days you met the players and the managers during the week and not at the games. You felt that there was a bond between you and them and that when you went to games yuo were a supporter of the club not a person who is theer to make up the numbers.

Compo you have been going for around for 15 -17 years. In the 70's and 80's it was a total struggle and at times embarrasing to watch the football but there was a feeling of appreciation for being a supporter why I don't know but it was so much so that I used to travel form Lincolnshire every other week to see the home games. If I was down there today I would certainly think twice.

ok new question then. Those of you who are massively disillusioned, do you not feel that the club have realised this and are taking steps to try and resolve this. They cant repair it straight away but at least it looks like they are trying. Asking our opinions on season ticket deals. The new ask chris thing on the website. Are these not positive steps?

Yes they are but will they be acted on i,m not sure over this season i,ve sent 3 e-mail to the club pointing out minor things that annoy me going to games and they have done nothing.
1. People from Youth teams/clubs and colleges Selling
tickets outside the ground.
2. Smoking on the terrace and behind the millhouse stand.
3.Kids running riot during the game.
So i hold no hope.

Didn't uncle Ken say he was sorry for the relegation season and he would ensure it didn't happen again? Well it appears to me that by doing very little over the past two seasons you are preparing us for it happening again.

By all means, but first,

1) actually have some promising youths available; it seems the gold rush is over
2) stop kicking out yoofs who have shown serious potential (Darren Craddock, Carl Jones, among others)
3) don't overdo the youth bit; the team also needs wise old heads like Tinkler and Boland

On the subject of kicking players out, also stop kicking out players like Darrel Clarke who more than compensate in dedication for what they lack in skill. I can't really say what present players fall into that category mind.

This is what I find very concerning. We supposedly have a great set-up with regard to the youth teams etc. We all saw on saturday at half time all the different youth squads we have. Surely we should be producing some good players or at the very least players who are better than what we currently have! The first teamers are hardly pulling up trees are they.

I dont watch the youth games but people keep saying that certain players look promising and no sooner have they said it, the said player gets released.

At least some of the kids would give 100% unlike the current first teamers.
