Have they just helped Pools have a better chance of staying up?

Scunny just had to play 30 mins of energy sapping extra-time and have to get over a morale sapping loss. By the time Easter monday comes they could be there for the taking.......

That will psychologically scar Scunthorpe's bid to get promoted via the play-offs.

They will be hurting by the time Easter Monday (My Birthday) come around.

They'll want to win the play-off final if there.

why will they be hurting?

it's only the bloody ldv, they'll be a bit trashed tonight, bit drained but come about 8am tomorrow, after some toast, i'm sure they will no longer give a shit.

if pools lost in the ldv final i think i'd be over it before the toast

its still a cup final they bottled against a lower league team, and the extra 30 mins will have drained them mentally & physically. They will be fresh for Saturday, but have a tricky tie against Huddersfield, then come monday some of them will have very heavy legs entering the last 20 mins of the match......

I was devastated after we lost to Sheff Wed in such a controversial fashion.

The main memory I have from that day isn't one of joy - I can only remember three painful words...

The JPT is the only realistic chance many clubs,including ourselves,have of going to wembley & winning something.I would be well sick to get there & get beaten.I am always disappointed when we go out of that competition too as I want to see a trophy on our shelf.
There are only 2 realistic possibilities of us winning a trophy & one of them would mean going back down to the basement league so for me the JPT is an important part of our season.

Yes,promotion may be a bigger prize,but lets be honest,the play off finals are a joke.If there is going to be play offs it should be a 2 legged home & away tie with no token trophy & showcase fannying on about it.
The play offs are for the teams who werent good enough to win promotion outright,they are not a cup competition.

I was at the game and said exactlythat - plus the psychological blow of losing in a big match will take some dealing with. I was hoping for a few injuries and suspensions too
