Former Hereford keeper Matt Baker (from 2000 to 2004)...

"I used to hate playing at Hartlepool. There is always a wind, even when there isn't, and the slope of the pitch and hostility of the crowd isn't pleasant. The Hereford players have obviously got to put that aside and focus on moving the ball quickly and concisely. "

Does it really have THAT much of a slope?

It doesn't have any slope whatsoever. Between 2000 and 2004 Hereford didn't play at our ground once, they weren't even in the football league...

There used to be a slope towards the rink end corners years ago, but this seems to have been levelled out now

the pitch is a good shape this week we have put the stripes back in the pitch rolled it and its flat as a witchs tit the grass in the goalmouths is coming up gradually and looks 10 times better than it did against millwall.
