although they look doomed right now, their recent form has been superb. What we wouldn't give for their points return in the past three weeks (all started very kindly of course by our good selves).

They have three home games left against Orient, Yeovil and Carlisle. I'm less bothered about Orient now as they have a proper manager and will get out of trouble anyway - but how crucial could it be for us to have Cheltenham win their last two home games?

Wasn't it Southend beating Cheltenham once that ensured our place in the play-offs ? :)

1999/2000 season - I think Southend beat Torquay and Cheltenham also slipped up as well so we got into 7th

Well, we obviously need Cheltenham to slip again then, don't we ?

It's amazing though how much optimism a side can be given just by winning a game for the first time in ages.....
