Well said PJ I agree fully. We all want debate and all have our own points of view but personal abuse of fellow posters and some of the name calling of players is totally unwarranted.

i agree. And as someone who has been responsible for some of it i will make a concerted effort to bite my tongue when certain posters are spitting their bile in order to get a 'bite'.

It's a good point and one that I've been meaning to raise for a while.

The one rule this board always had was that personal abuse was unacceptable. Piss taking is fine as is banter but straightforward abuse isn't.

We have the facility for bans of 24/48/72 hours which automatically expire after the time limit set. From here on anyone engaging in personal abuse can expect their account to be suspended for a ever lengthening period of time.

Could we not have thread for personal abuse only which requires users to click a disclaimer before they enter. I dont think some of us are capable of biting our tongues 24/7 so a specific thread for spouting 'bile' may be the best bet!
