The day they did the walkout at 2-0 and were handing out 'Ken Richardson Firestarter' stickers  We were two down to a Prince Moncrief brace, but came back to draw 2-2 with Richard Lucas scoring the leveler, I remember it a volley at the back post.

God we were awful that day!!

I think i was there that day werent they getting hammered about 6-0 every game and we only could manage a draw, also I thought it was jon cullen who scored (what ever happend to him as he was great for us for a season or two)

I think Cullen scored the first, yeah they were getting tonked by everyone not even sure if they'd won a game.

That was one of the few (and certainly the last) times I have walked out early.
Muttering "we'll never score if we played till midnight", I took the opportunity to grab a lift back to the pub where the minibus was meeting.

Not a defeat, but wasn't there a home game against Exeter when we were 2-0 up going into injury time & drew?

Terry Cooper (I think) went & stood in with their fans.

Carlisle away in about 2002 weren't we 2 down at half time and won 3-2. Got a feeling with Shilton Or Fitzpatrick scored a cracker from 20 odd yards out.

Weren't we 2 up against Darlo once at the Vic and drew 2-2? Would have been late 90's. Against can't remember exactly who scored for them, might have been Darren Roberts. I remember the Rink End going fckin mental! rage

I went to Southend I think in the 80's and Pools led 2- 1 going into injury time and we lost 3 - 2.

not quite what you are asking for but i can recall a game (vaguely) whee we were home to wigan or someone in approx 91/92 and we went 3-0 up within 12 mins or something. They come back to 3-3 and I think it was Mckinnon or fletcher who scored a fourth for us late in the game. We celebrated like we won the fa cup!!

Didn't Dicky Lucas score a pair?

We left 10 minutes from the end with the Donny protesters and missed both of our goals.

I do recall Lucas scoring twice in a match but I don't think it was that match, I think the first was a Jon Cullen header. About 800 people must have been left in the ground with half of them being Poolies, a bizarre day!!

that donny game in 78 brings back memories, 13 year old , punk rock, gorgeous weather which it always seems to be on the first day of the season. Pools tore Donny apart. any other side would of went in at the break ten up, not us , nothing changes, Crumplin and Newton up front I think, Donny got a goal just before the break and a totally different pools team came out second half and managed to get beat. What was strange that day was the poor following from Donny, only a coachload in the clarence road stand.

Here is one for the list, Feb 76 2-0 up in first 20 mins against darlo , got beat 2-3.

4-3 away at peterbrough is probabaly the best come back by us I have witnessed. Would give anything to live that experience again. Than knocking tubby Turner out the cup a few days later too and listening to his pathetic comments afterwards. That was some start to a season.

Yer. Absolutely exhilarating. I couldn't get me head round that defeat away to Blackpool. We'd made such a good start such a defeat seemed impossible!
We were never out of the top twelve that season and if I remember rightly we spent more time in the top 6 than out of it.

Kamara. "Strugglers" rolfl .

Well, he was just a couple of seasons early I suppose.
