Well I won't be losing any of my money to you Chip. There are too many other teams involved, for us to finish in the bottom four.

I'm willing to put a tenner your way if it means we stay up. After seeing us not turn up at Cheltenham, then failing to repel Millwall, I really think we'll be visiting Morecambe, Dagenham, Burton and Doylington next year.

I count meself as an optimistic Poolie, but examine our form since the end of October. £10 says we're down.

It's my opinion that Shergar will never win another race, but I can't get any bookies to quote me any odds.

By the way Chip, just 'borrowed' this from Rivals, your odds aren't very generous!!

Just been having a look at the league one relegation odds and if the bookies are to be believed (and they do pay their odds compilers a fair amount to get things right) then we are as good as safe. Just for example Corals go 1/20 Cheltenham,1/10 Hereford, 4/6 Brighton, 11/10 Yeovil, 7/4 Swindon, 3/1 Leyton Orient, 10/3 Crewe, 7/2 Northampton and 7/2 Pools. You can get as big as 7/1 for us to go down with Skybet. So things could be worse, Middlesbrough are 2/5 and Newcastle are even money to lose their Premiership status.

a ten minute spell apart, pools were superb on saturday, and anyone who couldnt see that and is dishing out marks of 3 and 4 for players other than collins nelson and the keeper has shyte for brains imho.

we will not go down.

anyone who wants to put their money where their mouths are, im offering odds of 2/1 if you want to back pools to go down and i will accomodate any bet up to £150 before 5 o clock on friday.

so either put up, or shut the fook up. :coool:

since when do performances win prizes, on a football pitch?

I dont bet chip, its a mugs game, and for one who thinks so highly of himself, you are a mug.

Self confessed.

We shouldnt be in the shit we are, but we are. Too good to go down my arse.

We have 4 away games left, and unless the team suddenly develop a backbone, and find some heart, then your bet may come back to haunt you.

I don't think we'll go down. i think we'll scrape together enough points to beat the drop.

But I fear for next season. Without Joels goals and with Monkey out of contract we could be losing two of our best players. We will need at least 4 new faces in the summer, of good quality, I can't see it happening. long hard season in prospect.

God, I'm depressing myself! Worrying about next season before we've even survived this one.

Now that really is a stupid statement. Leicester have been performing well most of the season, and that is why they are top of the league, and will win it by a country mile. Cheltenham on the other hand have been performing badly most of the season, which explains their position at the bottom of the league. Simple really.

Eh? Leicester were not awarded points for performances.....only results.

I give you the recent examples of Hartlepool 1-2 Peterborough, and Hartlepool 2-3 Millwall.

Have we been awarded points for them performances? sctatchinghead

We deserved some didnt we? So how many did we get?

My point was that teams who perform well tend to get better results, what is hard to understand about that. sctatchinghead

No Chip's right. For an hour on Saturday we played better than we have all season. We gave a real fright to a team I expected to come to Pools and win easily (look at their last few results). Then we let terrible abysmal personal errors from the centre backs cost us the game. And a keeper who doesn't make saves doesn't help.

Chip's also clever - shutting up moaners who don't really think we'll go down but love to whinge (the only one I have any respect for is Poolieinnottingham who really does believe it apparently) - and making as profit on every bet by covering it at higher odds elsewhere.

Bookies are the most dispassionate, rational assessors of every situation. They have to be- their shiny cars and big houses depend on it. Look at the odds stated above. The great likelihood is that we won't go down. Despite the best efforts of ALB and our centre backs.

Chip is right, we did play well for an hour or so. But we have done that for most matches this season and still get beat. It means fuck all.

And for anyone taking 2/1 then give your head a shake.

Being shut up by a bet? How does that work? Is it like a spell to ward off relegation? Maybe if I bet all the players a grand they'd go down that would be a good spell.

For the records, until this last week I have said nothing one way or the other about our league situation because anything could still happen. Three weeks ago we could still have made the play-offs if we'd produced a run like we did two seasons ago.
Now, since the Stockport game, I firmly believe we'll go down. The number of teams we should have beaten but haven't, the number of games where we've played like Barcelona only to take a ten minute fag break while the opponents score, leave me with no other option.
And I'm not going to be Mr I-Told-You-So if we do go down, I'm going to sulk like fook.

I'm trying to figure out how having a bet will change that or how it would be clever of me to do so.

His winnings at 2/1 plus his stake back obviously

We don't seem, as hard as we try, to be able to get lower than 15th in the league!

I think we'll lose every game and finish 15th.

I've said all along that it will be less than 50 points to stay up this season, I said that months ago. My major frustration is results at home to the likes of Crewe, Yeovil, Walsall and Leyton Orient. Even beating two of those would have us safe already, saying that for some reason I think we'll win on Friday night, don't ask me why!?

Do you have a paypal account Mutley? I found my password list a few days ago and to my suprise there was a little money in there that i did not realise i had. Since i can't get to the game you can go and shout them on for me if you want, sounds like they can use as much support as they can get at this stage. I will just need the link and i will take care of it. Get yourself there man.
