Hello poolies im hoping you can help me out in tracing one of your fans. I have lost contact with the guy as his mobile number I have now does not receive any calls. His name is Darren Lakey and last I know he lived in Midlothian Road/Street?.

Have been friends for years ever since me and a mate walked into The Corner Flag one day for a pint before watching (another) Torquay defeat! We were looking for somewhere to stay and he kindly helped us out and spent the evening with a few fans in the New Inn that night. Also used to go into the Engineers Club before matches. Met up later in the season when a coach load came down for the weekend and a good two nights on the piss (I even ended up staying in the hotel both nights!!)....

Frequent visits have continued over the years by us up to Hartlepool and have had a great time, continually losing at Hartlepool but redeeming ourselves by always winning at Darlo which always went down well with you lot. He and his mate (Dave King, he who had the supporters bar over by the wharf) even came down to Wembley one evening to see us in the playoff final.

A change of phone number on his part meant a year or two without contact but on your last visit to us he came down for the weekend and saw me walking out the ground but couldnt get my attention. Unfortunately for me I was off to Somerset that evening so was gobsmacked when heard from home he had rung. Kept in touch from then on and I know he has been doing some coach driving of late.

If anyone can help with this please reply or message me.

Many thanks and best of luck for the rest of the season. We envy you being in the league as its bloody awful being non-league.

I was on that great weekend when we stayed in the hotel and I think I can remember you.

Dave King is Codyakker on this board, and now runs the Mill House Pub next to The Vic.

Haven't seen Les Battersby/The Love Doctor for years though...

Thats him!! I was going to put the "Les Battesby" bit but didnt, Love Doctor?...dont know that one!! He did chat up some mares down here once or twice though.....

Will pm Dave, thanks for that.

Know Darren quite well. If you still struggling contact me and I'll give you the last number i have for him. He's driving buses now for a living - did a few away games for us last season. He's just the same.

Thanks for the offer but "Mr Codyakker" said he will pass on my details. I know he was now coach driving and told me it was real strange being the driver of the supporters coach when he has been on countless away trips sat at the back. He said Millwall away was an eyeopener!

All the best for the rest of the season to you lads, Pools result one of the first I look out for.
