Well its unlikely any bigger clubs will take a chance on him then. Presuming he has shown enough to merit a contract here then it could be a good thing.

I'm not convinced. Lange is injury prone, seriously injury prone and we've been stung by his signing. We have very limited resources and we can't afford to keep signing players (with obvious ability) who are going to spend more time injured than playing as it disrupts the team so badly. It was well documented prior to signing that the likes of Collins, Boland, Lange were all injury prone and they've all signed for us and spent significant time injured whilst presumably drawing a large wage.

Another classic example. Obviously a good player but it was well known he was a crock before he joined. Result- about 20 games played in over 18 months.

Teams on limited budgets get the chance to take the risk on players like this because other teams don't want them but can we really afford to be taking such risks? Lange is clearly very very injury prone and he's not going to suddenly turn into this fully fit 50 game a season striker.

Maybe we ought to get rid of that other injury prone crock as well - what's his name again?

Exactly! Since we're levelling criticism at players with repeated injuries, they don't come much more injury prone than him.
I seem to remember hearing the club is insured for this kind of situation anyway; if it's true then Lange being knacked makes knack all difference.
First time I've heard of a footballer being injury prone in the shoulder mind. Jonny Wilkinson I can understand, but a footballer?? confised

I can't see how that would work. A company gives a team money everytime they had an injured player?

If you're right then signing Lange wouldn't be a problem but I'm sure you understand where I'm coming from in regards to using resources on players that are highly unlikely to be consitently available.

re: Brownie. He has played about 100 times in the last 3 years. I'm guessing that's more than Lange and Boland put together with a bit more added on.

and how does it work with a footballer like Lange who has barely kicked a football in the last few years?

If I was a company I can't say I'd be bending over backwards to insure him.

But it's 100 over four years, not three isn't it. Anyway, you know what I mean. I'm certainly not saying get rid, but he is up near the top in number of games missed through injury.
