Quote:
Chris Turner was left furious after seeing his side lose out 2-0 at struggling Cheltenham Town this afternoon.

The Pools' Director of Sport could not hide his disappointment after a below-par performance from his players,

"You have to be committed, no matter who you are playing against, whether they are top of the league or bottom of the league. "I wonder if those players in there are embarrassed like I am because those fans who travelled down to watch us today deserve a lot lot better. "Certain individuals didn't get off the team coach today - we are not a good team if certain players are not at their maximum and today, they were not at their maximum. "That's why we're having the problems we are because certain players are not doing it enough, especially away from home. "Too many players didn't show the desire needed out there, especially in the first half and consequently we lost."

But I bet he picks pretty much the same team next time out. Personally I would put a team out that includes none of those involved today and make todays players act as ball boys for the whole game.

Quality post.
I read it but didnt bother saying anything because the 'click' on here would have been rarfs and argued against it.
I try not to post about the games these days due to proper rarfs on here.

I'd be amazed if anyone was happy with Mackay on the right of midfield Jesus I wouldn't have been peachy about him being selected in his proper position, check back I wasn't happy at all before kick off. I hailed the return of Danny Wilson's tombola.

It still boils down to the players though, they are letting us down.

i also thought the team selection was poor. for the record :

most of us have been asking for liddle to be played at left back not right back.

most of us thought sweeney was doing fine where he was.

a lot of us wanted to see clark back at centre half.

none of us wanted to see mckay on the wing.

some of us wanted to see rowell start a game in midfield.

none of that happened today.

Spot on.

The team i've been wanting Turner to play for a while (injury permitting)

Budtz

Sweeney - Nelson - Clark - Liddle

Guy - Jones - Rowell - Monkhouse

Porter - Parker

WTF would i know though? confised

I am liking that team Mr Quid, apart from Budtz. ALB is our keeper who has done OK of late, Budtz was good today wasn't he!!?

Barrett's no good man!

He's squarer than a cardboard box, off his line more than Danniella Westbrook amd he's been lobbed more times than Omar's cock. Budtz is by far the better of two evils.

Unless i'm much mistaken, ALB has now passed the 100 goals conceded mark in a season and a half confised He's conceded 60 this season and has got to be our worst keeper (statistics wise) since Rob Moverley?

ALB is not good enough.

Neither is Butz.

But I suspect, like a lot of managers have one, ALB, is Turners blue eye boy.

if Pools start next season with Turner as boss, ALB in goals and Humphreys at left back then it tells me all I need to know about what will happen, even if we survive this season

Where have I suggested he is any good?

All that needs to be said about our goalkeeping situation has been, Turner doesn't agree he rates ALB so we're stuck with him. Continuous slagging off of the lad is utterly pointless, I gave up a few weeks ago.
