Found this in today's Observer, next to a picture of his ugly mush.
Either GR is just a big softie, or he's a big liar who likes to fantasise (?)

So now Susan's in tears
"You cant leave a lad like that", she sniffles. "You have to buy the club for him"
So I bought it.

GR never really had the support of the people of Darlington. They only ever got decent gates when he was charging ridiculously low prices to get in. GR was silly in a lot of respects but it could be said that his vision and ambition for the club was not matched by Darlington townsfolk......
