Nothing wrong with the groundsman, it's those bloody footballers running about on it. You just get a pitch looking good, y'know all those stripes on the grass, crisp white lines and a load of bloody hooligans come and ruin it.

Same with golfers and cricketers and as for rugby players

Wasn't the 'Centenary Tournament' the problem? They didn't do the usual between seasons work on the pitch because of it.

The pitch was only re-seeded this year as opposed to totally re-laid.

It had been re-laid for last season.

Doing Billingham Town's may have been some sort of contributory factor, it was thought simply re-seeding it would be as effective(obviously not).

Re-seeding allegedly cost £30k while re laying it would have been nearer £100k, along with cost of Biliinghams pitch, it seems cost may also have been a factor.

It's all down to MIGS. or 'moan induced grass stunting', apparently it's a common occurence and is caused by the variation in pitch between whining and moaning which confuses the grass molecular structure, thus stunting growth and causig the worms to dig deep for refuge from the sound
