I dont know why, but I am expecting the following to be out with slight knocks:

Porter
Nardiello
Jones
Robson
Lange
McCunnie

Now I have no problem with players being genuinely injured.....james Brown for example.

But its time Turner became a bounder, and forced these fookers to play.......unless they really are injured.

I just think players seem to cry off very easily these days.......and at the end of the day, do we really give a foook if Porter, Lange, and Nardiello suffer long term by playing now. Our need is greater than theirs.

On another note, I would imagine Clark, Monkhouse, Porter, and the others that suffered at the hands of Wilson will be REALLY up for it tomorrow night. Unless of course we all had it all wrong, and they were happy to be left out by him.

I suspect the latter.

Anyway:

Could we see a forward line in a vital game of Henderson and Foley?

saying that about porter is harsh, hes been half fit for weeks. the last time we got relegated he played for us to try and help us avoid the drop when he was no where near recovered or matchfit. same with lange, he came here not expecting to play for a month, yet he's played 3 or is it 4 games? he looked like he could hardly stand at the end on tuesday.

I think these guys are genuinly injured like its been said Porter has played while being unfit for weeks now.

you say our short term is means more than their long term. That is true, but what would happen when these players come back with a soliccitor claiming for damages whilst at work, suing the club? you would do the same in their shoes.

I say rest POrter and lange and play

ALB
Sweeney Nelson Collins Hups
Guy Liddle Clark Monkhouse
Nardiello Henderson

personally i wouldnt play nelson and collins together as they seem a little bit suspect when fast forward runs at them i would ideally like to see clark and nelson back in there but with limited resource i suppose we have no other choice

Subs
Cook G/K
Foley
Rowell
Mackay
????

ALB

Sweeney Nelson Clark Liddle

Guy Rowell Humps Monkhouse

Nardiello Henderson

Subs
Cook
Foley
Mackay
Young
Collins

Edit : didn't see your post MJ, but as you can see I agree

clappp clappp clappp clappp clappp clappp clappp clappp

suggestion of the week

Sadly Turner is every bit as clueless as Wilson regarding this!!!!!!

There's no mention of Nardiello being injured on the official site for tomorrow's team news so I expect him to play.

Now I don't particularly rate Henderson on the little I've seen and think he would be ineffective away from home against a team like Swindon so how about playing 5-4-1 instead of just playing a striker for the sake of it.

3 centre halves with Clark cleaning up behind Nelson and Collins.

We should have the players to go on the break really well and it's a gameplan that many teams have succesfully brought to Pools.

Tomorrow takes on more relevance since Saturday. With that in mind Turner needs to out think Wilson from the start. Wilson knows our strengths and weaknesses (mainly weaknesses at the moment)

So Turner needs to do simple things from the off, and that begins with the best ploy available to any manager and thats naming his team at the latest possible moment prior to kick off, which used to be 30 minutes (it may have changed) but whatever the timescale is now thats when the team sheet goes in, giving Wilson as little time as possible to give any team talk to Swindon on it.

The next thing is to put out a team that he least expects, and with regards to actual names of players that is going to be difficult as he knows we have a small squad, but although the names may be roughly what he expecting , he could be thrown if we suddenly went and played a different formation, and it's with that in mind that I may be tempted to play 4-5-1. Now if play 4-5-1 who leads the line, probably only player who could is Porter, but could he do it alone for 60-75 minutes.

4-5-1 can become 4-3-3 , but have we got someone who can play a decisive ball through to Porter to give us a goalscoring chance, well I believe Rowell can so for me he starts.

Now I believe Turner will probably stick to 4-4-2 but if he was to try and do something different I would go for the following, It wont happen but as I said at start Turner needs to try and out think Wilson.

ALB

Liddle Nelson Collins Humphreys

Guy Rowell Clark Sweeney Monkhouse

Porter

Subs

Cook
Nardiello
Foley
Tait
Mackay

Clark and Sweeney hold and protect back 4 Rowell hopefully is some sort of creativy, but Sweeney gives us our box to box player hopefully getting up behind Porter to give us some sort of threat of a goal from midfield.

Yes really stupid idea, sillier than MJ's but as I said lets out think Wilson first and give him the problems.

I sit and wait for the insults and that team being pulled apart.

At least it a talking point.

Quick edit, didnt see my mate's TPP 5-4-1 suggestion but suppose if I have Clark in midfield then 4-5-1 can become 5-4-1- as easy as 4-3-3- and it even got chances of 4-4-2 . Let me think is there any other permutations

I'd go with that FB.

As I said in the post before I don't see the point in playing a striker just for the sake of playing one in a criticial game like this one. We may as well use the extra man to try and strengthen another area where we're currently weak.

I always prefer 4-4-2 to anything else but in this case we'll have to make the best use of the players available to us. However I can't see Joel playing tomorrow so it'll be Nardiello upfront for me on his tod.

Also, if we need to change things and it's not working we could easily put Rowell on the right of midfield and move Guy upfront. We'll see what Turner comes up with...

i like it fetish although i would leave sweeney at the back and put humphries in midfield with liddle dropping to left back. People can slag him off but when he has a chance to play nice short intricate passing then he is one of the best in our team.

MrB out thinking Wilson as well. It like I said Wilson knows the names that will be on the team sheet, but he may not know where they playing , those positional changes he has mentioned could be done, even during the game keep the F***er guessing.

My sources suggest Joel hasn't even travelled with the squad to Swindon.... oh joy banghead banghead

Mind seen as he's scored one league goal away from the Vic all season (at Leeds) it probably won't make a difference!

ive seen him set up a fair few for other people though.

i think it will be a while before we see him playing again. sadx

When it rains, it fooking pours...

I think Turner should step into the loan market and snap up a striker, it's what our squad needs at the moment, a striker on loan. If I was him I'd completely ignore strengthening other areas and sign a striker on loan.

Have they left already sctatchinghead . They might have played badly on Saturday but making them walk to Swindon ain't gonna improve things.

Sources have been know to be wrong.

Messages on here have been known to be wrong, he may have meant wont travel.

The fact is I would be extremely surprised, not if Porter unfit tomorrow, but if we have in fact travelled by now.

I think any trip over 1hour 50 minutes is an overnight stay. They'd probably stop somehwere on the way today to train I'd have thought.

They get looked after, they don't really have any excuse for the pathetic away form that has plagued us for nearly two seasons.

7 hours won't be far off. It'll take about 4 in a car without stopping so you're looking at over 6 in a coach plus a half hour stop.

And I actually think it makes sense to go down today and have a bit of a train and then they can go about their usual routine tomorrow without having to sit on a bus all day then go straight out and play.

It's not like they'll be getting pissed and enjoying themselves down there, half of them are probably reading the Bunker as we type!
