 Post subject: Name that song
PostPosted: Fri Dec 08, 2006 9:36 pm
You've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
And nobody has ever taught you how to live on the street
And now you find out you're gonna have to get used to it
You said you'd never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but know you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And say do you want to make a deal?

And Dibbs, It's not welcome to the board

There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings,
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.

I'll leave that one for ECG, no doubt he'll get it rage

Try this one

Reflexes got the better of me
And what is to be must be.
Every day the bucket goes to the well,
But one day the bottom will drop out,
Yes, one day the bottom will drop out.
But I say:

"You were twenty five six months before me
And we realised that life was as good as gone
But you said "Life's hard and then you die"
Sucking every last dream from the words of those books that were burned"

I reckon there is only one person on this board who will get this one and it isn't ECG (now there's a challenge).

I used to go and see them regularly - I preferred the line up with Larry Wallis (who then went on to be in the original Motorhead line up) Kins of Oblivion.
They (the Pink Fairies) used to tour with Hawkwind and they used to take it in turn to headline - at the end they'd all be on stage and would call themselves Pink Wind.

That must be Never Never Land then. Paul Rudolph was their guitarist then I think - he left and joined Hawkwind as bass player taking over from Lemmy - all very incestuous.

Try this one....

I have screamed until my veins collapsed
I've waited as my time's elapsed
Now, All I do is live with so much fate
I've wished for this, I've bitched at that
I've left behind this little fact:
You cannot kill what you did not create

????????????????????????

Well your friends with their fancy persuasions
Don’t admit that it’s part of a scheme
But I can’t help but have my suspicion
‘Cause I ain’t quite as dumb as I seem

Well you said you were never intending
To break up our scene in this way
But there ain’t any use in pretending
It could happen to us any day..ayay

Well, that's enough about songs, how about poems?

sometimes
i feel like a priest
in a fish and chip queue
quietly thinking
as the vinegar runs through
how nice it would be
to buy supper for two

I sing that nearly every gig!

I hate that song!!

I was in the RAF, sharing a large room with 7 others, and one of them bought that 'Ace' single, and played it over and over and over, along with Mike Oldfield's bl**dy Tubular Bells. I've hated them both ever since.
