why is it called the bunker and why was it formed?

the only reason i ask is because everyone mentions the 'clique' and how you used to be banned if you didnt conform to certain standards. Eg the likes of headlander was not welcome etc. However it does not appear to be like that any more

The best thing about the Bunker is you're able to take a girly hissy fit when someone tries to remove your rose-tinted specs, make yourself look really foolish by resigning (again), reappear three days later and start the whole process all over again.

inthenet / rivals - first mb i remember, closed by a former manager for a few months and could not reignite it's spark upon it's return.

Official board - I believe that former manager of ours also did not like that board, gordon watson did, that board drove itself.

hufc2003 - good board, liked that one, petulent owner shut it down over a packet of bloody faggots.

Bunclick - took me a while to get into it, but its the first website i check now, selective reading its needed though i pick my posts to read.

hufc2003 was the first time i discovered a pools message board and i loved it, apart from heady of course. the craic was mint. Snowy always used to pick on me though

The best was undoubtedly ITN in the pre Zippy days. The main reason was that it was the only one. There were just as many hissy fits though.

not in the slightest i never have had or never will have any desire to moderate this forum. I have a job that pays, jobs that don't, interests that are interesting - and others that aren't - don't need to add this to anyone of those categories. Jealous - there is no one on here that I hold in awe, whatsoever.

except I would have like to been one of the chosen men in sharpe - those green uniforms were the best.

but apart from everything, message boards give everyone with a similar loyalty to vent their feelings about the issues around the cause the board was set up for... the founder members started this one coz they felt there wasn't an outlet to do that, in a way that they felt they and others enjoyed, be it pc or non pc, but the one thing they all had was pools in their blood, and constant whinging and moaning at all things pools will and I believe should not be tolerated... go to the bloody loids board if thats what you want, we all have our views, of what was right / wrong who should play who is off who is in, but to constantly moan and whinge about everything " pisses people off" now maybe thats why it's done, so be it, then as the original bunker welcome said "welcome to the board".............................

As for the setting up of the bunker there was a lot of activity in the couplle of days just before the start of the season on Thursday August 17 2006 and Friday August 17 2006. Wonder what was was going on then ..........like.
