was it turner who brought him to the club on loan. With all this talk about ALB was just wondering as maybe mr turner could provide us with another good loan move, although from his comments the other night about ALB I am not so sure.

Surley they must be young keepers at boro, sunderland and newcastle that would be chomping at the bit to come here on loan

It was Mick Tait that brought him to the club.

oh yeah so it was, never the less surely turner has goal keeper trainers as mates from his playing days that he could contact to see if there are any in teams reserves that show promice, now I know that in another post I stated that for pools a more experienced keeper is needed in the long term to allow ALB to gain experience off for a future potenial keeper, but as a short term solution maybe a more talented youngster / experienced player from the premier league should be enlisted for the remainder of the season

Tim Krul at newcastle maybe? Boros young keepers are their first choice not so sure about Sunderland.

Harper made his debut on the 30th of august 96. We were 15th at the time. Only lost one game with him in goal and he left we were 6th. Hollund returned and we ended up 17th. Jan played three games with Harper being in goal.

All thanks to Mad Johns site.

Another reason if it were to prove why a good keeper is so important.

Darren Ward most certainly be worth chasing up.

I took a fella to pools last night who is in the same Darts team as me on a monday night , after the game we went back to the club where he said " Darren Ward is some keeper you lot should look at signing he is desperate for first team football and he wouldnt have to move house to play for pools"

If this is right why dont we ask about him Sunderland can only say yes or no to our approach

always look on harper as pools most disappointing "lost" buy, wasnt he all set to come here but kenny stopped it, glad he is being given a longer chance at newcastle though, also he did his refs badge at the corner flag
