Where do all the pens go?

A few years ago I worked for a company who changed their name, meaning all the promotional items including pens were up for grabs. I helped myself to a box of them, yet within 6 months they had all disappeared.

Every time I go into Barclays I make sure I grab a handful of their free ones, yet I can never find the buggers.

What happens to them?

i think you have a pen monster in your house that pinches them, we have one in our house and a sock monster !

They get eaten by disposable lighters. Yeah, I know, that's just transferring the problem up the food chain.
