Shah waits all this time for a chance then fooks it up, not even a run to speak of in the match.

Bring Bell back.

I'd agree with both selections.

If it's going to be a bit of a ropey wicket Swann gives us more batting.

It was a brilliant catch. Don't think I've seen anything like it.

Will it last five days though?

It's been prepared in less than two days and it when they used it as a net strip it was described as 'lively'. I can see it get quicker later today and then even more so tomorrow then deteriorating, Gayle has fooked up big time with the toss. Test wickets are usually prepared over a weeks even months, not days.

How can a pitch that hasn't hosted a proper match for years possibly last five days? Once it drys out I'm sure it will be uneven, could be wrong but I'm just thinking logically.

It won the game as well, McCullum was going well.

It's Hereford, the same flag was in Jamaica.

"New ball, old ball, any old ball - the Windies are never going to bowl England out, not a chance. I'm backing the batsmen to rack up 650... Chris Gayle has rocked up, done the toss, and then switched off, thinking purely about his dinner and what nightclub he'll go to tonight."

Jimmy goes but he'd done his job so doesn't matter too much.

Plenty of batting left, 500 has to be a minimum- it's just a shame we keep having to give teams 1-0 head starts in series. banghead

Nightwatchman is still a bloody stupid idea. You lose a wicket late on in the day and you respond by sending in a bloke from down the order. To me that sends the message that you aren't confident enough to send out your next batsman. You also give the opposition a cheap confidence-boosting wicket the next morning. And that's when it works. You look even more silly if it doesn't.

312 runs and only lost 3 batsman but there's always someone wanting to moan.

I see what you're saying but if we'd have sent in Collingwood last night they'd have probably raised their game even more knowing we hadn't used a nightwatchman.

You don't mind seeing balls grub along the floor when you already have 400 on the board, this wicket will not last 5 days.

It was going so well until KP & Fred were bowled. Should still get 500, then let Harmy loose in the last hour.

I think Strauss got it just about right and everyone batted very very well apart from Freddie. It's not often you can say that about an England.

Also, I was looking at the in-play betting this afternoon whilst watching it. First thing this morning the 'scoreline' was 565 and you could bet whether we'd get more or less than this. We got 566. The bookies know their stuff.

I'd love to be out there at the moment, I'd probably give one of my bollocks infact.
