Budtz dropped off the coach at some services on way to Milton Keynes, waiting to be picked up and will play for Oldham tomorrow, trying to get it confirmed.

Seems to confirm a previous post

Deffo looks like it happening. According to Oldham fan, Oldham are in talks with Butdz as emergency cover so that ties in with that.

Why didn't we think of this coach thing ages ago?

Chris Turner: "what's that noise? Driver stop at this lay by. Arran & Jan I've just heard a noise from the back of the coach could you go and check if everything's OK?"

When they get out simply drive off, maybe lean out of the window to shout "so long suckers" (optional). Then detour to Cardiff to collect Dimi. Goalkeeping problem solved.

Simple.

Come on Pools, haven't we learned anything from Dick Dastardly?

LATICS’ boss John Sheridan and assistant Tommy Wright are actively pursuing a new goalkeeper in time for this Saturday’s match against Northampton Town.

Greg Fleming’s red card at Leicester City last weekend means he now faces a one-game suspension, and, with Mark Crossley still injured, leaves youngster Josh Bell as the only keeper on the books.

With the emergency loan window now open, Latics’ management duo are now trying to bring someone in ahead of the Cobblers’ visit.

If someone can explain how a convenient drop off point for an Oldham (at home to Northampton) collection, can intercept the Pools bus, heading due south to Milton Keynes can work then I will believe it.

But it smells like the usual 'my contact at the club' bullshit.

Can we pack this in, it was tedious when the window was open...

Why stop?

Rumours like this keep the board alive.

It's something a little interesting for a friday night when usually nothing happens.

Chill out and just enjoy it for what it is, a rumour.

Mebbe he dropped off the bus for a pee and the inevitable sighting by 'someone who knows' never saw him get back on.

It's half 7 and this is the most exciting thing of the night.

I hope this isn't false hope and when he does go I hope we get a decent keeper on loan.

Well if it is true I think we will have to look for a replacement - not sure if Turner would be prepared to rely on the young lad as backup.

I reckon he'll go for a new first choice keeper... taz

I dont post bull s*** I did state within the original post I was trying to get it confirmed, so I wasnt actually stating it was 100% true.

Now I dont drive, but would the coach not go down the A1 and A1(M) so services around Wetherby, Sheffield, Doncaster, Hull would all be a possibility to pick someone up to take to Oldham. Just some possibilities.

about thirty years ago we went to an away match, problem was the coach company(p&r)sent us a 48 seater instead of a 54 seater so there was 6 of us sat on the floor going down,so bill spowat(i think)arranged for us to come back on the team coach, great we thought but it took us forever to get home cos we stopped at every service station droppimg players off who had people waiting to pick them up,so it is feasable for budtz to be dropped off on the way down.

if he did go, we couldn't get anyone else in, unless ALB get injured.
It's emergency loans only, between now and the end of the season

Being called emergency loans is a play on words to get around the window. Players will be signed in all positions by many clubs,(outside the premiership) upto the last Thursday in March. What used to be the last day for signings for the season.

can a club bend the rules of the emergency loan window and get away with it?
i.e. let's say by lending Budtz to another club, have we artificially created the need for an emergency signing, in order to get another player we really wanted - but were unable to do so in the transfer window under those particular set of rules?
Dismissing the Cook angle, it's just a hypothetical question.
I'm sure Carlisle put themselves in this position before they signed Jimmy Glass

You cant bend a rule which says you can bring in as many "emergency loan" players as you want.

The only rule is you can't play more than 5 "loanees" in a game, and that cant be bent.

Only if George Wood clouts ALB around the head in the warm up.
