How on Earth will we try to beat Milton Keynes away from home on Saturday ?

In preparation for the puzzle that we face this Saturday, I have been watching the film "Enigma" with Kate Winslet, all about the work of the best British codecrackers trying to infilitrate the Nazis during the Second World War at Bletchley Park, now part of Milton Keynes.

They said the odds of cracking the Enigma code were several hundred million, million, million to one and it could not be done in such a short space of time, but they managed to break it because they kept plugging away with it even after several failures , their work typified good-old fashioned British ingeniuity and kept believing that the could break the code because they believed it was pivotal to the final, crucial result.

This is the same attitude 'Pools in my opinion must bring with them on Saturday in the town of the codecrackers, concrete cows and more roundabouts than Swindon! clappp

That film had as much relevance to the Enigma machine as I have to Panda breeding. Do stop watching bollox like that and try reading several books on the subject to get a balanced view if you're interested.....oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

I stopped reading after he said a film with kate winslet...

Right i've got him another chance and read this, i dunno why.

Imagine Chris Turners teamtalk...

"Right lads, when your out there, just think of the film enigma with kate winslet, i'm sure the rest will take care of itself."

For the 'odds' POK is quoting, that would mean Man U at home playing Pools, but all the Pools team is dead and their ashes placed in a 4 4 2 position on the pitch and still winning ......... and we still don't get anywhere near the odds.

That must be up there with any post I have failed to understand.

With Kate Winslett in the team we may get the odds POK mentions, as it happens Ladbrokes offer 9/2 for a Pools win. Unless she in goal then they may offer something like 4/5

So can I have those odds POK I will only place 1p.

It's all about being creative with your team talks. Focus on the idea of needing to have the spirit that broke the code to inspire and forget about the fact that fact that Kate Winslet's in it.

Damn I was hoping he would go for the "we will not go quietly into the night..." speech from Independence Day. confised

Enigma? We've got no chance sadx

But a) that speech is only a rip off-of Churchill as a great leader in wartime saying "We shall fight them on the beaches" and b) I was trying to make a direct connection to who we're playing on Saturday and what we need to do to beat them.

Milton Keynes Dons = Milton Keynes = stadium mk = Bletchley = Bletchley Park = Enigma = spirit that broke the code and won the war.

That had to be the biggest contortion of the facts of all time ... what next? US Navy seal archers won the Battle of Agincourt ? ..... the US Air Force won the Battle of Britain under the leadership of Tom Cruise.
