Dicko's brother and my best mate Ian passed away yesterday and Dicko has requested that any board members going to the funeral could they please wear there pools top the older the better.
Ian was a big pools fan and will be missed.

Funeral arrangements to be made.

Thanks people.

Shocking news Kev, I've been sending Jeff a few jokes the last few days, obviously I wouldn't have done that if I'd known, I feel terrible now.
I'll give him a ring later on

Just got home from my mam's house lads, and have tears in my eyes reading this support. As ian followed pools for most of his life im sure he would welcome you all to the funeral. Thanks for all the kind words at such a sad time for my family and his 4 boys. Like he used to sing a 'Poolie till i die' God bless and rest in peace big bro.

Hi all first time poster on this forum,Just to say i used to work with Ian on the cars,I also know Jeff.I only found out on tuesday as i have been working in scotland.Firstly my condolences to Jeff and the rest of Ian,s family, especially his boys.He used to pick me up in his old granada for work, then he decided it would be a good idea to get me a crash helmet and pick me up on his motorbike.(knowing how scared i was of bikes he found this to be quite funny). His love for Pools was unreal. He really was a top man and will be sadly missed by myself and many others.R I P MATE.Gaz Thomson

Didn't know him but my thoughts are with his Family and with his Friends.
May he Rest in Peace.

As always, it puts any petty whinges and moans any of us have into stark perspective.

Regards from a Saddler.

Ian was, obviously, a fan of football where football, and its fans matter.

RIP, Ian.

Had a call from Mason and Martin today, and i belive the funeral will be on wednesday 18th. Will confirm it later.

Unbelievable freindship shown on here and various other boards towards Ian and myself even off people who didn't know our Ian. Times like this you realise what good mates you have. Thanks everyone from all the family. Especially his four boys!

From Dicko,

At last nights dinner there was a moment for reflection for all those no longer with us in our centenary year. Ian was very much in my thoughts last night as I know he would have loved seeing some of the ex players there.

Sometimes it is very difficult to say the right things at times like this but our thoughts are very much for his family.

A nice touch with the request for the shirts on Wednesday and a great gesture from the club shop giving out those flags.

The Poolymads will be there for your family and Ian will always be remembered by us.
