That's the schools shutting early for half term!!

It was just on the radio that loads of schools are wanted parents to pick their kids up asap instead of half 3 or whatever. Any reason? I don't get it!

Tell you what mind, I've just driven home from Stockton and its very bad, car all over the place, took me ten minutes to get on the drive!!

Having said that, fookin teachers will do anything to not work !

Got Aido at my house doing a job in the garden and i wont let them go till he has finished he looks like frosty the snowman.

I don't debate the snow is really bad, I've just been out in the car and crawled along to stop me skidding.

But why do they schools need to close now? Wouldn't it be better to wait till later when the roads have been treated and people can collect theirs kids safely than at the moment where it's a nightmare?

Surely if the oiks are inside everything is OK?

What reason do they give that they need to shut?

They want to get rid of the kids ASAP for insurance purposes. They can't afford any accidents, so they don't want the responsibility of looking after them.

How can they get injured if they keep the twats inside. They are surely increasing the risk to injury by getting them picked up when its lashing it down with snow than if they wait a few hours to see if the snow has fcked off.

When the kids are outside of school, picked up by their parents, the school washes its hands of responsibility.

It's not the falling snow, is it, it's the stuff on the ground, which turns to ice as the day goes on.

In this area, lots of kids live in outlying areas that never see a snow plough or gritter.

Well it serves them right for being yokels, they should live in the town. AND all kids should go to their nearest school like we did when we were kids, and we went in all weathers including much more snow than we get nowadays but we still walked there and back and spent the whole day there without being sent home.

Why do they want to shut schools early..? Forget the kids, they're only a smokescreen, ... just how many teachers actually reside in the town now?. I just love to see some nagging treacher going on and on and on about global warming to a bunch of kids while they travel 25 miles in a Volvo estate to get to 'work'. THEY are the problem

Dunno what the fuss is about,I just rode a pushbike from the town centre back to seaton in the snow no problem.

not going to say too much as i was a teacher and i was certainly not a lazy so and so. I have trudged through snow when i worked in Lincolnshire only to be told that the place was closed I stayed and prepared for the next few days. I then got home and received a call to say the place was shut for the next three days.

The way teachers are being vilified on this board is somewhat out of order all are not lazy good for nothings.

Not all obviously, there are plenty of ok ones out there too, but a working day of 9 til half 3 is barely breaking a sweat and nothing like hard work.

No snow here...but a big f**king sandstorm that's been hanging around for 2 days! Haven't seen the sky or sun for 2 days!

I made a snowman for one of the grandkids after tea. It looked quite good too.

My daughter made me go out in the garden and make two snowmen, while she decorated them, she's 19 for Gods sake.
