Tesco sell it at around £7...is it cheaper anywhere else?

It's costing me a bomb as my printer needs 4 different colours to operate, even tho I print only in black.

you don't do much B/W printing do Graby... if so you'd be better off buying a B/W Laser printer.... printing B/W with a inkjet uses all of your cartridges (unless of course it has a black ink cartridge of course!)

I'm led to believe that the more expensive cartridges contain small integral compartments with solvent in, for more effective cleaning of the printer heads. So, although the cheaper cartridges may cost less money in the short term, it's normally better to purchase the original make as the printer heads can be kept clean.
The cheap ones just blurt more ink through when attempting to unclog the heads, which won't work properly

Thanks, suppose I'll just have to put up with it for now, then.
I virtually never use colour, just print black and white text, but I didn't realise the printer would use coloured ink even just for that

I think there is somewhere on York Road (possibly the one by the Burn Valley roundabout) that does refills for cartridges and they're meant to be cheap.

Treat yourself

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148076

It'll pay for itself if you're only doing B/W text....

I have an Epson printer that uses 6 cartridges and I pay 5 quid a set from www.svp.co.uk, the comp shop in Lister St is fairly cheap as well.
