I was very impressed after last nights performance, it was amazing football with loads of chances created where we could have had 5 or 6 but it was the type of performance where we looked organised, played some very tidy football and did the job of coming home with 3 points. If we played like that every game away from home, we'd have one of the best away records in the division.

We looked a much better team without Daly upfront, we kept the ball on the deck and never resorted to hopeless long balls

Dimi-8- didn't make a single save all night and was very commanding in the box

Barron-7- Sound

Richie-2- Five marks deducted for his poncey headband

Clark and Nelse-8-both solid.

Monkhouse-7.5- I thought he did very well, he caused them problems on the wing, did some great defensive headers, provided us with some much needed height from goal kicks, and scored the winner. An all round good performance.

Boland-9- his best yet. He was everywhere and kept things ticking all the time. A great signing.

Liddle-6- not suited to centre midfield, I'd get him back to left back

Gibb-2- and thats being generous

Eiffion-7- a lively performance from him and looked much more comfortable not playing next to a big man.

Duffy-6- a bit lightweight but did ok

Foley-8- caused them a lot of problems when he came on and could have easily nicked a goal. Must start on Saturday instead of Gibb.

Williams-6- did fine.

Thanks for the thoughtful and witty analysis clappp
But I think it is not Daly's fault that the manager
sees only one role he can play- a target man

I wouldn't move Liddle to left back, Ritchie has been excellent in that postion of late and we are keeping clean sheets in the league, we also have Monkhouse now as well which is slighty stronger left hand side than it was at Lincoln for example when Brackstone and Robson where causing all sorts of problems (for Pools that is!) Credit to Wilson for improving a weak area of the team.

What I would do is bring Sweeney back into the middle and play Liddle on the right, I then think we can field an eleven without a real weak link.

how else can you play Daly?

He's crap at everything he does. He wins the occasional header but otherwise does next to sod all.

I'm sorry, or I was at the wrong game, but I can't remember us having 5 or 6 shots before Foley came on, mind I did miss the first few minutes. We certainly looked organised and played tidy football (for very short periods), but there was still a lot of long ball and hopeful hoofing out of defence.

Your report's spot on then, even down to Ritchie's silly headband, the poser !
Although if it helps him play like that every week, I wouldn't complain.
Maybe we could get Ali G one
