I was surprised to learn the UK was one of the smaller European countries when it comes to wind power production, but when you learn that the USA has just overtaken Germany in capacity and that they have installations like the one above, I can well believe it.
You need to look at the full size view to see just how extensive it is - and even then part of it is hidden! And it's only the fourth biggest in the States.

That is pretty impressive! Lots and lots of Turbines there. According to power experts you to power somewhere the size of Birmingham you'd have to fill Scotland with turbines just to power it! Madness

Nobody's explained to me yet why it's not possible to drill down to the earth's mantle and extract heat from what we are told is a seething cauldron of molten rock. Is there no money in it for the fortunate few or something. sctatchinghead

I might just start digging today.
