As we seem to know so very little about him I've been doing some digging.

*Arsenal, Aston Villa, Coventry and Juventus were interested in him at some point.

*In 2000, He signed for Trabzonspor for about £4 million.
He had problems with the Turkish club because they didnt pay some of his wages. He refused to play for them but was ordered back by FIFA. Lange's attorney Dag Steinfeld criticised FIFA's decision saying that the “the law ignores the football world we live in”. As of 2008 , he STILL hasn't be paid for his missing wages by the club.

*In 2001, Club Brugge paid or offered about £2.4 million for him where he became a club hero. But it sounds like their were problems with his transfer and FIFA issued a temporary license pending further treatment in the criminal justice system.

*And finally when returned on loan to Tromsø, he is meant to have peformed poorly in training and only made three appearances for them. "He is totally harmless in front of goal, not running, never in the duels and playing in general very weak", is what the fans are meant to have thought of him second time round.

Mr Turner says of Rune ""I thought he was well worth having a look at for next season".

Hmmm.

Agreed. A strikeforce of Porter, Nardiello and Lange would normally have fans very very excited. It's got a massive amount of potential and all 3 are proven goalscorers, how often have we ever been able to say that? Probably never. However, most know that with such problems at the back we would have been better off focusing our attentions elsewhere in the transfer market instead of bringing in 3 strikers.

I make no apologies for being openly unhappy with the performance of our back 5 this season and I stand by my criticism of Turner after he has talked of nothing this month than strengthening the strikeforce.

Are you happy with it, OO?

also we now have three strikers who have played at international level. Fuck me im excited. Even with a dodgy defense we should have enough to stay up. And if we do then we can get rid of the shite and have the basis of a very very good team.

I'm not happy with the keeper. I'm happy with the back four.

If his reputation is not bollocks and if he has the longevity of a Windass or a Furlong, yeah, a potentially fantastic signing - although I'll admit to being more excited about Nardiello.

Will Foley and Mackay even make the bench now? Shame for them but that's the way of football. *shrug*

If you want to say it with a Dutch accent, just copy the pronunciation of the crowd in that video someone posted!

I wouldn't really say it's a shame, they have both been given ample opportunities but have struggled enormously. At most other clubs they wouldn't have been given half the chances they've had.

The worst thing that could have happened to these two was Pools get promoted two seasons ago. I'm sure they could both comfortably do a job in Div 4.

Yeah that's what I meant. Shame they struggled. I mean, we don't really want players to struggle do we.

If this geezer is half as good we'll be laughing

Is there any real chance of any of these three signings being made permanent - Blackpool dont want to let Nardiello go, Lang only wanted to be here until end of the season if we believe reports and not even sure if we want Hendo even if Watford would let him go which I doubt they will or want good money - Luton have paid Borer 80K for Craddock and we all know what he was like.

the way turner is talking it sounds like lang will be here next season. I doubt we will get nardiello full time, im hopeful about porter staying and getting boyd back and with a fit james brown then we are laughing. Pre-season will be about getting the defensive situation resolved

But Lange has definitely said he wants to move on at the end of the season, Mr B

Obviously Rune is "Rooney"...but is it "Langer" as in Bernhard, or "Lang" as in that pipe-smoker singer KD, or "Lanje" as in Robert "Mutt", boyfriend and Producer of Shania Twain?

Rune - Rooneh, Lange - Langeh

So basically pronoucing the e at the end as "eh" the same as in bet or wet. Like the Langer without the r. (missed that bit!)

If Lange is any good and scores a few goals then a lot of teams are going to be interested in him with his record. Leeds would probably sniff him out for a start.

It's very likely that any team interested in him are going to offer him more than the relative peanuts we'll throw his way

With the credit crunch and falling attendances I can see a lot of players who come to the end of their contracts not being with a club come July and those that do re-sign might be taking a drop in wages. I think there will be some good players without clubs and IOR are probably wise to wait till the close season before making too many permanent appointments. Some players who believe they can play at a higher level may be very happy to find themselves playing at Hartlepool. We will certainly have a good appreciation of what it might cost to replace Joel if we can't pursuade him to stay. If only we had strengthened the goalkeeping situation I would be pretty pleased with the transfer window activity.
