I've haven't been told a thing I heard the same stupid rumour as you I'm just applying basic common sense.

You see if you get your top scorer to commit to a two and a half year contract you tend to tell people that your number one striker has signed a new contract. It's quite good PR if you think about it, what advantages are to be gained by withholding that sort of information? Even Pools who keep things quiet tell us every single time a player signs a new contract.
