The Loids game has unsurprisingly been called off at Bradford tonight, why so late you ask!?

Because the Ref Andy D'urso lives in Essex and only got to the ground at around six!!!! Darlo's fans would have set off, why couldn't they have just got a local ref to inspect it rolfl

it's not much fun getting somewhere and it's called off, especially given the bad road conditions to have to drive home in.
I went to Hereford twice for it to be called off in consecutive seasons!!
A couple of visits to Devon the matches were under serious doubt because of the downpouring rain - a 1-1 draw at Plymouth was lucky to get to the finish line as one corner of the pitch the ball was unplayable on the floor. Ditto Torquay in the promotion year - if the game gets to the end and you have a result, great!!
If there's any doubts the match should be called off as early as possible, and if long distances are involved the decision surely has to be taken the day before

To be fair you'd have had to have been fairly simple to have set off tonight, the game was on the telly another reason why they waited for the Ref normally it probably would have been called off this morning.

I reckon our game might be on tomorrow actually, it depends on how much it snows tonight.

Lot's of snow forecast tonight but not much more tomorrow.

do they have undersoil heating there? It is not expected to get above freezing tonight or tomorrow in their neck of the woods, so if the surface goes hard I think the match has had it in any case

I've been to the Vic twice only for the game to be called off (v Orient & v Doncaster). Both times due to a waterlogged pitch in the days before our pitch & drainage were re-worked. The problem being that it's about a 500 mile return trip for me. I heard that the games were off when I was almost in Hartlepool. For the Orient game we were staying up for a week so not too bad. For the Doncaster game my wife thought it'd be a good idea to see Shakespeare in Love at the cinema.

The Loids must be gutted, they must of been due a large chunk of money for the live match, it would of been interesting to see the viewing figures to see if they could get anywhere near the 2.1m that Pools V West Ham got.

Note to passing Loids the bit about viewing figures was put in as tongue in cheek as I know not all caravans have electricity.

I think you'll find actually spending the money is better.

What I couldn't believe was that I'd heard on BBC News 24 that it was announced that all the schools in Bradford were going to be closed tomorrow and I thought that if all the schools were shut then the Darlo live game would not have gone ahead. I went on Bradford's site and they said it passed an inspection at 3.30pm, but they were going to have at 6pm because they knew more snow was on the way.

Bradford City were even asking for any people to come along to the ground with their own brooms and shovels to give them a hand protecting the pitch from the snow.

I wonder why did that - could it be possibly because the game is being shown live on TV and the two clubs can't afford not to have the match fee.

And then at 6pm when they were trying to do everything to get the game on - in the worst snow for 20 years, it was an utter miracle alone that the game didn't get called off earlier because of the bad weather, when tomorrow's games were being called off left, right and centre - the referee postpones the game.

All that work for nothing.

And the biggest shame was we didn't see the Loids get hammered.
