According to the official site we have a championship player about to join us, could it be the lad from barnsley with an ordinary goal scoring record?

But surely an 'ordinary' goalscoring record is better than a non existant one, ie Baby David?

It can't be Odejayi as Turner states "He's got good experience at a number of Championship clubs and he'll be training with his own club this morning before the deal is confirmed this afternoon."

Odejayi has only ever played for Barnsley in the Championship.

This bloke is a possibility;

And its not Kyle as he has left Coventry 'by muttual consent' and is signing an 18 month deal at Kilmarnock.

likewise. still only a young (ish) lad, but with a good pedigree. sorry mouldy, rather him than ormerod.

But on what Turner has said Omerod is certainly a possibility.

I'd rather it was Nardiello though.

Beggars can't be choosers either would strengthen our squad it's fair to say!

Nardiello has only played 76 minutes this season - in the FA cup defeat at Torquay. Apparently he's been plagued by illness and injury. I hope we've done our homework and we are signing someone who can make a real contribution.

he won't.
I predict over the next 7 league defeats he will miss 2 penalty's, get booked 5 times, subbed 6 times and never score for Pools as we freefall to relegation!

That would be an impact wouldn't it? I'll reserve judgement until I know who he is

We need a striker ..yes we do but imagine how many points we'd have if we'd actually had a goalkeeper!!

I'm sure we had this conversation last year as well!!

Nardiello is a player who seems to have always scored goals, he scored against Pools a few years back I remember at Oakwell. He was always a good kid on the old champ mans with Man United, having said that Boydy went to the world cup as shearer's strike partner aswell rolfl

fingers crossed we arent let down when this singing is revealed!

Nardiello is 26 and has started only 70 games in his career, 30 goals in them 70 starts is a decent return

well at this moment in time id take any striker that has played in the championship right about now, i dont rate henderson, but he has only had one and a bit games, still got something to show though, foley well we all kno about him, mackay is getting better, but his first touch is attrocious at times, and that leaves us with porter who is literally carrying our attack on his own. But everyone raves about rowell, why hasnt he been given the chance to show us what he can do? or maybe now is the time for tymon to show us what he can do, give them the chance if they sink, then at least we tried them, we may unearth that gem

on nardiello my championship mole reckons he is a good striker, can play wing too, and my opinion he looked a good player when i seen him playing for qpr, and some games for barnsley. so get him in, is his contract up at the end of the season?

Daniel Nardiello had a very positive impact at Barnsley when they borrowed him from Manchester. A similar impact here would do fine.

Well if any signing can be described as cracking, it's this one.
All he needs to do now is live up to expectations.

Over the moon (provisionally).

And still 2 days left after today.

well i cant imagine him to be match fit right at this moment, so i wud imagine hed start on the bench against the gayboys of down south, but he looks a good player and the type of player to link up with joel hopefully, from what i remember he had a bit of pace, a trick or two and an eye for goal, so it looks good

What pleases me is it it clearly isn't just a signing to get him fit, we have him until the end of the season and if he does well hopefully longer.

Probably not, he only signed for Blackpool in the summer.

I personally think Joel will be given a few games rest now or at least on the bench and not have to risk his injury even more

he might have only got a one year deal? or maybe they will cancel it if we want to sign him at the end of it?

Bob, I posted that at 11:24, I must admit it was pure guesswork on my behalf as I'd heard his name mentioned the other night and CT gave us a few hints

And this was on Rivals yesterday

we are getting both Nardiello from Barnsley and Liam Dickinson from Derby

Well he has the first part correct.

Highly unlikely though surely?

I can't see it PJ but the lad got the 1st part of it right way before any other poster had mentioned Nardiello but he did get the team wrong.

Thanks Geoff, so it seems this lad is ticking the boxes when he said 2 players from PSV, the other 2 he said are from Norway.

Didn't The Mail last night say that we've got two Africans on trial from somewhere that they don't have footie boots or footballs to practice with?

so if they've got no boots and never seen a football before - are they going to play like George Weah's cousin at Southampton when Souness was manager?
