you'll be getting accused of being up your own arse phil by talking to former players and then mentioning it on here

Well if people like that would rather ignore ex players (and fecking good ones at that) and just pretend that they were not in the same room then that is very, very sad. I will assume that those who would suggest such a thing are new ish to pools and don't understand that players have not always been as accessible as they are now. Or perhaps they feel intimidated through a lack of self confidence.
tossers.

As regards Tony Parry, it put's those players into perspective, when he said he lived in Rodney Street and Sherrif Street when playing for Pools. Not to mention John Gill riding home on the No6 bus to his council house .... but footballers weren't so far up their own arses then.

One thing that does make me blow a gasket, which Parmo alluded to in another post, is when pundits defend high wages further up the league by saying they only have a short career ...OH NO THEY FOOKIN DON'T!!! ...they go out and get a job like the rest of us would have to. I remeber Jeff Astle being on with Frank Skinner and David Badiel when they revealed that prior to appearing, he was working as a window cleaner. Nowadays, the most mundane, second rate donkey in the Premiershit is on money that isn't only silly, but obscene.
