Crowds are suffering allover but they are doing relatively well, George II must be pulling his hair out. Imagine the embarrassment when they are pulling those crowds in the Championship?

It's got to be nothing other than the ground, they are 4th in the league.

They should ground share with Darlington R.A.

How long before our crowds drop to that sort of level though, people just cant afford to go. To be 4th and get that crowd though is embarassing.

I think they reckon those crowds would all of a sudden double if they went up, we know in reality that isn't the case in League One (away support isn't much better). Are people who aren't willing to come out on cold Tuesday night to watch Fourth Division football going to turn up just because it's League One? I doubt it. The key is doing well, we get decent crowds when we are doing well, they obviously don't.

If we were 4th in League Two, I would be disappointed if we dipped under 4,000.

Have a look on the Loids website they moan like hell at paying 18 quid for a seat, I have seen them demanding the prices to be lowered to 5 or 10 quid, if they did that they still would only get 4,000 fans at a midweek game and then only if they are near the top of the league. If they do manage to get promoted this season can you imagine the shock when they are asked to fork out 27 quid to watch them play Leeds.

I just don't wear rose tinted glasses pj we had 3700 there last night for a game that is almost classed as a derby and over 500 away fans.

Has anyone ever, in the history of the World ever seen anyone in a pair of rose tinted specs?

I'd look a bit effeminate for start.

Don't knock it until you've tried it I suppose.

Seriously is that most annoying statement anyone can make on a message board, I try and be realistic, yet that's wearing rose tinted fooking specs. For me that statement is always used as a retort by a poster trying to justify negative diatribe. Our crowds have dropped but so have a lot of clubs Scunthorpe and Oldham are around the 4,000 mark yet are having much better seasons than us. It's someting football needs to take notice of.

players are probably earning an average of 2-3k per week in this division (clubs like Leeds will pay more on the whole) but when a club only gets say, 5000 fans every home match, those sorts of numbers don't add up.
So the admission money goes through the roof.
Footballers outside the top division need a reality check, and they all need huge pay cuts. They'll just have to change their lifestyles, and get another job/trade aftyer they pack in playing.
Like they all had to years ago - and still have to in the non-leagues.
I have no sympathy for this "only a short career" bollocks, so they try to make enough money to last them a lifetime in 10 years. Why should they be able to do that?

negative diatribe stating that it wont be long before our crowds drop to that level, lets see how many we get if our away form continues and we drop further down the league.

If you cant see that we are going to struggle your blind we have a paper thin squad, our best player is playing with an injury, we aint particulary good away from home so chances are were going to slip down the table, hence the smaller crowds hope im wrong but can you see us getting many points in the next few weeks?

I think youve got a point (billingham) and the fixture list shows just how dififcult the next few weeks will be - perhaps pivotal in terms of how our season ends up

Brighton - ok we drew in the cup but not after giving them a head start so at best 1 point but i cant see it somehow

Huddersfield - cant see anything other than a defeat here

Walsall - we should be capable of winning this but confidence will be low so a draw at best again

MK Dons - a fear a heavy defeat

Leicester - cant see anything here than a home defeat

Orient - what will be a must win game and one I think we can win though it wont be easy - Boydie will have a point to prove again

Swindon - maybe scrape a draw

Colchester - again a pointless journey

making 5 points from a possible 24 giving us a total of 38 points from 34 games - not a good postion to be in going into March

When we get to 52 points this season I'll be delighted. Saturday is a massive game, and it's winnable, if we do win we can be 11 points clear of Brighton and well clear of Leyton Orient who are fifth bottom (who we have two games in hand on). That is ample breathing space as we have some tough home games to come. Hopefully a couple of decent additions will bolster the squad and we can stay in the mid table. The management situation needs solving one way or the other, at the moment they've done exactly the thong they said that they'd never do again, Wilson has been gone about 5 weeks now. I think we will be ok, we have enough decent players to pick up 19 points in 20 games.

At no stage will we play in front of 2400 people unless the Loids organise another bucket rattling fixture.

They are no more than predictions, laughably negative ones at that. Did you predict Orient would win at MK last night?

I thought you'd think he had a point, he's reading off the same hymsheet of doom.

Ah well on that basis I'll change the Orient result to a draw as Orient have picked their form up -

As you say nothing more than my views but unlike some on here Im a realist and havent allowed the Cup run or that we beat a poor Cobblers at home hide the fact that we are facing an uphill battle to avoid the drop

Where on our current form can you see the points coming from in those games

no doubt eight wins, 24 goals for and 0 against signalling Pools late push for a play off place.

You obviously dont - I'll ask again how many points do you think we'll take from that sequence of games?

Perhaps if your honest and not let your heart rule your head then you'll see my thoughts arent that far from the likely outcome thats why you wont answer - i hope Im wrong but I cant see it why is it people on here are so blinkered and still be saying there wasnt a problem when we've been relegated

Haven't I said what we need to do for the rest of the season already in the above post?

As for prediciting results, it's utterly pointless. You have no idea who we'll bring in over the next few weeks for a start, we might bring in nobody and your dreams will come true or we might bring someone who makes a real impact and we'll end the season in decent fashion.

So how do you come up with 19 points from 20 if you dont predict results or have you just picked a figure that will give you the required points total - so I ask again where in the next 8 games do you see us picking up points topwards your maginc total.

Where have I said that dream of what I've predicted for the next 8 games I like all other poolies want things to pick up, us to win every game and push for the play offs but it aint gonna happen - just because its what I think will happen doesnt mean its what I want - far from it - its about being realistic

52 points is safety normally.

On the patchy form we have achieved throughout the season we will finish on about the 60 point mark, well safe probably about 14th-12th. Anyone can beat anyone in this league as Orient showed at MK last night, I have no idea what our form will be I'm not fooking mystic meg.

No mystic meg but a budding politician yet again avoiding the question -

If not predicting how do you justifty that we will get another 19 points by the end of the season and from what games - in your respected opinion of course

Well apart from Carlsile we have ever single team below us for a start, and over the course of the season so far we averaged more points a game than the points required to stay up.

At what stage have we ever taken as few as 19 points from as many as 20 games, FFS you'd think we were 4th bottom not one point from the top half of table stpid

Anyway abandon thread, I'm bailing out of this tedium.

Teams below us like Crewe were - a 4-1 defeat Orient a 1-0 defeat Swindon struggled to a draw at home

No I dont think were 4th bottom but 8 points off and looking down and not up based on or inadequacies shown over the season to date

We have not had the sequence of games that we got coming up with a threadbare squad, no evidence of new signings, a lack of confidence no manager and a lot of worried fans

- you criticised my views and when asked to justify your criticism you either cant or wont expalin where you think we will pick up points in the next 8 games simple question but one youre not prepared to answer

OK abandon the thread and bail out -

We can get a good 10+ points from that set of games, wins against Brighton, Walsall & Orient and draws against Swindon and maybe Clochester. I can't see us get anything from MK Dongs, Leicester or Huddersfield but you never know with Pools.

Guess you're another of the rose coloured specs brigade - no doubt like PJ you wont respond

I will respond to this quote but after that i wont entertain your negativity, You just need to ask people about me a month ago when we were POOR and playing very POOR.. At the moment i am content with how we are..

However you sir are a Tool and like Pj im done with this yawn1

Back to the personal insults - and you're now happy with how we are now 4 points from the last 3 home games two against team who where at the time of playing them below us in the table one of them rock bottom and they hammered us 4-1 - thankfully you're not the manager

Our attendance last night was nothing short of disgraceful. We were getting more fans when we were playing shite and battling to stay up. It just doesn't make sense. I honestly don't know what more we can do. If we do go up, I think we'll get a fair few more fans obviously, but it definetly won't double. We just don't have that big of a fan base.
