I know he puts in 100% effort, but i'm afraid we need more, surely everyone at the club can see how little he contributes to a game. The ball goes to him he either loses it with a bad touch or the defenders just shield him away from the ball. We need to improve our forward line and quick. Henderson may come good, and i know we haven't seen much of him yet but i reckon he is not ready yet and he may be one of those players who we here of at another club in a couple of years scoring goals, however we need someone now.

The knack of being a good striker is good positioning sense, knowing where and when to run. Timing runs that split defenders.

Then once you have the chance you have to take it or at least get it on target. You can't dilly dally as if you do that you'll get tackled.

The problem with Mackay is that he doesn't know where to run and he hesitates. Against Northampton he had at least two chances where he was clean through with defenders close behind him, with one of them he hesistated and in the end took a more difficult option when it would have been easier and more likely to go in if he'd have hit it the first time, the other time he slipped.

But to be fair he's still very raw and a lot of it is to do with experience and confidence. He's got a lot of learning to do but he has a lot of good raw talents such as speed and determination, he just needs to become wiser and more calculated.

Sorry to say but I totally agree. He is competely lost. He has not got a footballers 'brain' and has not got a cat in hells chance of having a career as a league footballer. I appreciate his effort but he is simply nowhere near good enough.

I wish it wasn't the case but every time I've seen him play he looked out of his depth. Today he spent most his time chasing shadows.

Not quite true. Sir Ritchie was completely shiite! I suppose Mackay could argue that he is inexperienced, RH does not have a similar excuse.

Richie had a bad game, well thats a surprise coming from you.... Mackay was a waste of a shirt in my opinion but what do I know..

He had about as much penetration as a two inch willy ...but you'd know all about that

I don't think he was that bad. I might have mentioned before that I don't go in for the blind adulation of the bloke, I think he is and has been completely overrated for a few years but yesterday he was reasonable other than his inaccurate passing.

Im not disagreeing re Mackay, he was terrible. All im saying is that I thought RH was just as bad. Slow, very poor distribution, contributed nothing whatsoever.
