I'd heard the club got a lot of money (£60k) for having the logo on the shirts just for today.

I'd like to think that was true but why would LOG (an IOR company) pay to replace Dove Energy (an IOR company) on the shirts of H.U.F.C. (an IOR company). sctatchinghead
Just wondering like, but here's hoping we actually did get £60k for it.

I guess if Larsen Oil & Gas wanted some publicity £60k for 2 hours solid on the tv + highlights is pretty cheap for tv advertising. What I don't understand is why certain companies advertise on teams kits. Some are more obvious such as banks, estate agents, retail outlets, insurance, electrical goods etc. but others such as IOR / Dove energy / LOG what do they get out of it? Not knocking it, just curious.

Yeah, I've wondered that. Is it because we haven't been able to attract a recognisable 'national' name so they put one of their own IOR companies on so we don't have a 'blank' shirt? sctatchinghead

I figured that Dove Energy's parent company is LOG and as a result they put it on the shirts to get some prime advertsing on TV. If it makes us more money, happy days.

I think it's just the IOR group investing in the club, 60k advertising tax deductable, money goes into an IOR venture, have u seen who are sponsoring the players this season, dcompanys from dubai and such, this is the corporate system at work, also did you notice the extra advertising around the ground, "new score board", I think the club has pulled out all the stops to attract the max they could out of this tie, as mr green said in the programme, well done I say.....

also on another note, west hams we talked to said we could have charged 3x what we did and still sold out to them, but the club never toke that advantage....
we did say if they had we would all be in the pub like....

Berg Larsen owns aroung 40-50 companies inc (Hartlepool Football Club) Log, IOR, Dove
, DNO ect ect the same person who owns them, just a matter of changing money from one bank to another-so really the fact Log was on the front won't really benifit the club, as he's just changing one of his compaines for another

however the boy is a gezzer, i've met him twice, but the quicker he gets rid of Ken Hodcrofth the better for me. We as in Hartlepool united are easy one of the richest clubs in the 1st divison if not the championship as in our holding company is loaded- the only good thing to come from the iraq war is Mr Laursen made millions if not billions

I watched the game live here in China. If you think of the possibilities of the game being on worldwide streaming and not just ITV then its not just restricted to British advertising.

I just wish more Pools games got on the streaming sites but it's wall to wall Premiership. sadx

Any details of when and where the auction will be taking place Mr Ed???

I'd be interested in making a bid although I expect they'll go for a lot more than I can afford... sadx

all it says is...
"Today sees the lads wearing a shirt that will be worn only once- with sponsors Larsen Oil & Gas emblazoned on the front. Also, we have special commemorative embroidery on the shirt. This shirt will be raffled off in the next few weeks and all income from this will go into our youth development fund. This is certainly a way of getting a unique piecee of Hartlepool United history and a shirt that will only be worn on one occasion."

maybe we could try the bunker shares issue again (although I don't know how well it went for the orange shirts) but if collected enough it could be a goer.
