We're going to have a spate of temporary bans which may be made permanent if the rarfism continues after the temp ban.

Gentlemen, your suggestions please.

The state of being a rarf. The act of posting shite or posting for the sole intention of annoying everyone.

You can tell a message board is on its arse when admins start asking for nominations for bans.

Very grown up.

I think those nominating people for bans are the more childish ones.

i think there should be some middle ground, no bans, but no wind up posts either, that way everybody will be happy.....apart from you as we still have Turner in charge and ALB in between the sticks

Tree posts a lot more sense than he is given credit for.

He also posts a shed load of stuff that I feel is written to provoke people into an argument. If he cut out the sh**e he could easily be one of the best contributors on here.

You could always start self harming I suppose.

Anyway seeing the last time I can remember that 0-4 away happened was 2002, I'd call that grounds for optimism, wouldn't you??

Oh no of course not.

I was thinking something similar, when I read that, but couldn't be arsed to check how long it is since we actually lost 4-0 away.

From someone who doesnt post very much on here anymore - though does view (and sometimes is pleased he does and sometimes wishes he hadnt wasted the time):

Its not just rarfism from a select few, its the response to rarfism - and its the fact that some things are considered rarfism by long term posters just because they dont agree with their own opinions.

Its the response to POK everytime he posts - whether its a seemingly pointless or irrelevant post (though of course that is the moderators name and other more established posters are allowed to get away with such things) or actually a decent point he makes. He must have a right thick skin cos sometimes on here its akin to fox hunting and ripping the poor bugger apart. Its painful and sad to read (in my opinion)

Its the fact (for me) that so many just love a good complain, nothings right or ever will be, the worlds so fucked up, all these people are bounders and smackheads and this and that - and thats even before the football.

Of course I'm not saying people shouldnt be allowed to complain (I dont have any influence in the board anyway and no'one probably gives a toss what I think) but it does get wearing at times. And being honest, the main reason I dont post on the board very much at all is that I hardly ever see a match these days and so its hard to comment when you dont see anything or anyone. But certainly the above points all contribute pretty heavily to me....

I'm surprised the doom mongers are not out in force today (then again we could just rerun the pre Stoke threads and change the name to West Ham to save them the bother) .

My definition of rarfism is conduct, in a context of banter, that you wouldn't accept anywhere, not just on a messageboard.
My yardstick is this: if this was a discussion in a pub rather then on t'Interweb and someone kept seriously pissing everyone off every time he entered the circle (a circle of varying composition), for whatever reason, then he'd be a rarf and get the cold shoulder from everyone but those who enjoy a good out-rarfing contest.

Its not just rarfism from a select few, its the response to rarfism - and its the fact that some things are considered rarfism by long term posters just because they dont agree with their own opinions
