so tigro are you therefor saying that you would take mackay and foley up front instead of boyd? i think you need your head testing, although mackay did have a cracking game tonight, just somethings didnt work for him, but he showed good pace, a few good touches.

mind you there are experts on here who reckon porter is a one season wonder, and way "passed" his best too. rolfl rolfl

one wiseguy said he would never score more than 15 goals in a season.

another reckoned his career was over 2 years ago, and he would never come back from his injuries as his knees were totally fooked.

cant wait to dig up and re-post those gems in the next couple of weeks.

how many has porter got this season? is it 14 or something?

how can you judge if a player is past his best aged 26 ish? True he isn't going to hit the heights we all thought he would, but he would be a marvellous signing for Pools

I'd love to have Boyd back, he gave us the goals for our best ever season.

He might not be that prolific if he comes back but I guarantee you he'd be better than Foley and Mackay put together.

Id be intrested to know from the people who dont want Boyd back who they would like to see instead? Boyd fits our requirements as he is within our budget and likes to play the ball on the ground and bring players into the game.

For the 8539th time, maybe he might have wanted to come here but Hull rejected our offer and accepted a higher one from Swansea

Do either of you know any of the facts? Did we ever even get to a stage were we discussed terms with Duffy? Given he went to Swansea for £200,000, do you think we matched that bid? In your one eyed world if a player doesn't choose Pools once he can 'fuck right off' what sad individuals....

As for Boydy, everything I heard last night suggested he's coming home. The point I'd make is that if we were signing any other forward with 93 career goals in just 200 starts we'd be collectively getting the old fella out, I am at the prospect of watching our best strike pairing ever in action again clappp rolf

Let's not get carried away.

Boydy returning. Too good to be true, NEVER going to happen.

Duffy returning. Mixed feelings as he chose to go to Swansea on loan rather than us, said he'd rather go to Swansea....but we couldn't match the offer anyway...but a good player who I'd welcome so it's NEVER going to happen.

And we won't be signing three strikers in the transfer window will we?

Edit: And when I say NEVER I'm hoping to tempt fate but it probably won't work.

Theres a turnanround then, as when I suggested that Hendo wasnt what we need at this time and that we need experience and a goal scoring record I was shot down in flames - now we want a forward witnh goals and experience funny old world isn't it

Oh yes Id welcome back Boyd with open arms but as for the old fella well that stays where it is

The Boyd rumour was in the full ground, Not just random hearsay, Leyton fans have said he's declined the contract and Chip seems convinced we have bid for him, we have no reason to doubt Chip so Welcome home Boyd

I thought it was common knowledge he was out of contract in the summer? Its been said on here enough.
We need to sign two strikers, if not three by the time next season starts. If the players the club wants are available now and can help the team at the moment then we should get them in. Personally i think we will see one more striker come in as we have already got Henderson who is here to help us out and vice versa.
