let's face it, this bunch of no hopers have no technical skill or appetite for any kind of football match. Clear them out. The only ones left if I had my way, would be Nelson, Ben Clark, Brown, the new signings obviously have to be given a chance, Sweeney if he bucks up (otherwise he can get out as well), maybe Strachan, Porter (if only because he has the ability).
That's it - I'm not kidding. That means we have twenty odd pros at the club not good enough for League football. We are heading for another battle against the Conference, except this time there is no Alan Shoulder and Nigel Walker, no Rob McKinnon, Brian Honour, Paul Dalton, Mick Smith, Paul Baker, Joe Allon and Keith Nobbs, no Russel Bradley, Baker or Allon again,Gary Strodder, Baker again (again)! to dig us out of this mess. This lot couldn't dig a hole in the back garden.

So give Wilson a chance to sort it out. He has been severly handicapped by the embargo and some stupid contracts given out. He might even need until Christmas to wait for the transfer window to open up again.

Couldn't agree more, it makes you wonder doesn't it.
The players need to take a long hard look at themselves and be honest with themselves, do they want to be successful, they seemed to enjoy it for a couple of years, just like we did, if they don't want to do it now they should welcome to the board somewhere else, you can count on one hand the players that have done ok this season, someone , ie: The Management needs to take control of the dressing room and sort them out.
We are already near to a relegation spot, morale amongst the fans is at an all time low, crowds will now also start to drop dramatically and all of a sudden before anyone realises, we are back to the days of old, a poor bottom league side constantly scrapping to avoid going out of the Football League, only this time we cant rely on getting re-elected !!!!!!
We can't afford to be patient this season, if we go down we'll be finished, don't give me the old 'it's still early days' excuse , that one was rolled out until about January last season and look what happened,or the old 'we are finding it hard to adjust to a lower league' excuse, Swindon Walsall and MK Dons aren't finding it hard, are they.
We need action now, we NEED a decent experienced left back and we NEED a decent experienced striker, we've been able to see that since half a dozen games into last season and what have we signed, a defensive midfielder/centre half and an ageing injury prone unfit midfield hard man.
Not good enough, going by the commentary today we had another bucketful of chances and scored only 1 goal, they've seemingly had 3 chances including the penalty and scored all 3.
We had another handful of free-kicks in good positions and wasted them AGAIN, what are they doing in trainging ffs.
Break the bank if we have to because if the worst happens it'll cost the club more in the long run.
This is not a knee jerk reaction to another defeat, it's been on the cards since early last season, it just seems as if no-one at the club can see it.
Next week will see the same old interviews about how unlucky we were, how many chances we had, how good the commitment was, how they are working hard in training (obviously not on set peices) and how the spirit at the club will get us on the right track eventually, bollocks, I don't want to HEAR IT, i want to SEE IT , on the pitch, in real life, so that we know, instead of just listening to them saying it over and over again.

Roll on Friday, I'll see you all there, in amongst the other 2500 or so that will force themselves to turn up more in hope than in anticipation.
Ah the GOOD OLD DAYS !!!

Exactly. The management have to understand that we've seen this all before with basically the same squad and that for now, to our eyes, it's a straight continuation of where we left off!

Wilson, Butterworth, and company: if you are reading this, believe us, we know what we are talking about.
So what can you say to convince us that we're not witnessing a re-run of last season?

are you prepared to wait till christmas ?

out of the next four games we have three at home if by the Wrexham home game we are not playing better football and picking up points then it is time for the director of sport to earn his corn
as he was probably instrumental for bringing in the manger

i think you will find porter was our man of the match against walsall, and virtually beat burnley single handed. he got injured against torquay and according to people at the game , was one of our only bright spots today. cut the lad some slack. he stayed when he could have done a boydie, and has had a different strike partner in every game. even id struggle to look good alongside the likes of daly, proctor and williams. hes also probably as pissed off as the rest of us that our most creative players have been flogged off and nobody brought in to replace them.

seconded

To be fair the main two disposed of were Butler & Boyd & I don't recall anyone on here shedding any tears at the time

Boyd hasn't exactly set the world alight for Luton has he? It's his best change to make it big in the game & he's doing nothing, what makes you think he would be any better for us?

Starting to think that those who said the season before last was a flash in the pan may have been right - he seems to expect the world to fall at his feet & not have to put any effort in himself

adam boyd. he played against a team from our division last week and let me see....mmm.... i think it took him all of 3 minutes to score. which was about 300 minutes less than it took our entire team to get one.

given that hes been virtually out of the game for 15 months he was never gonna stand a chance of making lutons starting team with vine and feeney in such great form. now they have got parkin as well his first team opportunities look poor. i said at the time it was a bad move for him and a bad move for us.

as for him being a one season wonder, statto ( mad john) has already provided evidence to suggest his career goals to games ratio was the second best in the clubs history. i wish he had stayed till january and got some goals/games under his belt, to build his confidence.

the bottom line is that adam and joel looked lethal together. like all great strike partnerships they just clicked. there isnt a team in this division that would have coped with the 2 of them in full flow. if you have ever played up front at any level of football you will know what i mean. there are some players you just automatically seem to play well with and others you cant.

the 500,000 quid is not gonna look so good to ior if the gates are down 2,000 every week.

Dammed if they do dammed if they dont.
Boyd leaves for nowt when is contract is up, they are bounders, sell him for £500000, they are bounders

They may have been lethal together once, but they seemed to be losing interest and the call of fresher pastures was showing in performances.

Just coming back for a minute to the theory that this is a squad problem, wouldn't that be papering over the cracks?
OK, it might give us a marginal improvement but it won't give us back the play-off final team.
