If the kid who he'd called a Paki was Indian, Bangladeshi, some other Asian kinda place then maybe fair enough, but the bloke IS a Paki for crying out loud.

The thing I don't get is that Prince Phillip made his name being a daft old racist coming out with things like "If you stay here much longer, you’ll all be slitty-eyed." and "Do you still throw spears at each other?" His son and grandchildren follow suite and apprently it's 'news'.

I agree it's definitely not a hate word. It can be, if used in certain ways, but most certainly not in the way Harry was using it here.

I went to a school with a lad from Pakistan who would quite openly joke about being a 'Paki', he didn't care about the word, he knew no-one else cared about him being from Pakistan and there was no problem whatsoever. I'm guessing it's the same situation here.

People in this country have become obsessed in getting offended on behalf of other people and the story was pathetic in my opinion but the NOTW must have thought all their Christmas's had come at once when they got hold of it.

Only an observation like. I've never heard the term Paki used as an endearment only ever in a derogatory way. Much as the royal tosser was suggesting his superiority by referring in a patronising way to 'his little Paki friend'.

always remember when i was at uni in liverpool was at a comedy club were an asian comic was on telling a joke about wales.

a guy got up an said "mate i am welsh how would you like it if i started telling jokes about paki's", the comic just looked at him and said "well i am Indian mate so i think it would be funnk as fook".
