it is common knowledge that pools use the newcastle team coach to travel to away games, and it also rumoured that we sometimes train with them. We all know Hodcroft's obsession with Shearer, so surely there is some link with us and the mags up the road.

If there is a common link, does anyone else think that we could help them out as well as them helping us? for instance, we need a decent keeper, they have one there in need of first team experience (the dutch feller), so instantly both parties could be happy.

Another one is Shola Ameobie. now i know he aint premier league class, but i for one believe he could smash teams apart in this league, could it be worth going for him on loan. Again, he will get regular first team experience, and we need a centre forward.

All of this could be possible, if the links with the geordies are as strong as those rumoured!!!

Is the Dutch fella Krul?

Isn't he on loan at Carlisle?

They just wouldn't.

It's not Newcastle's team coach. Tim Krul is at Carlisle (but we really should have got in first given our goalkeeping situation) Ameobi is a regular starter under Potty mouthed Joe and probably on about £20,000 a week.

The only links are that we are both football teams from the North East.

actually it's a "play" on the Mags' club crest. It's not an exact replica

ok my mistake, but i certainly think that we should be forging some sort of partnership with some of the local premier league sides, and help bring their younger players on as well as them helping us!

Especially in the "CREDIT CRUNCH" bbolt

I'm not sure, but it might be the Classic Coaches logo.

I live in Hartlepool, support Pools and work in Newcastle - as much of a link as you'll find

and anyway Ameobi wouldnt dream of dropping down to Division One even if he were left out in the cold. Championship teams would take him. But yeah, I think we should be taking on loan players from the "big three", helping each other out, definitely. Though lets be honest, its hardly ever happened.

by giving players first team football instead of reserve football (as long as their performances merited it of course)

Maybe they should help their own younger players by giving them a chance instead of wasting millions of pounds on mercenary crock of shite foreigners, just a thought like.

More to the point, why should we give their youngsters experience at this level? There really is a cringing element of fooking cap doffing amongst some Pools supporters when clubs like Newcastle are mentioned. I have little time for crumbs from the big clubs table and do not want to end upa nursey club for the Geordies, although some might get 'aroused' at the prospect.

I was talking to Steve Harper just before Christmas, his cousin is a mate of my wife and he said he loved playing here and didn't understand why players not making the bench at all of the so called big 3 didn't fight to go out on loan to Pools.

The main reason as he sees it is the ego of a lot of these younger players is a lot bigger than the talent they have, unless your a Championship side they would never willingly volunteer to go anywhere.
