Went down there from the caravan (ullswater) Summer 80...we won 3-0, Geoff Forster scored twice and Houchen scored a beauty, heres a memory for yer, I bought Squeeze's "Pulling Mussels From A Shell" on Red Vinyl and Ultravox's "Sleepwalk" singles from a record shop in Wigan Center first. Yup, the grass bank was there and it was still in use well into the 90's.

There were less than 100 Poolies there that day, and it was red hot. clappp
Was there that day Phil we went to Blackpool for the night out.

I never got to Springfield Park, absolutely gutted along with Fellows Park, Somerton Park. Now we get Flat Pack shiite that has been put up overnight. rage

I did try to get there once, late 80's / early 90's when we drew them in the FA Cup. I was sat on the 8am out of Euston along with Ronaldo but the train never left due to icy weather that had brought power lines down.

Yeh, I remember a very cold and damp Tuesday night when there was about 15 Poolies and we were outnumbered by stewards! But they were brilliant and one of them actually went and got me a brew at one point. Priceless. And the guy on the turnstile lifted my son over as he couldn't bring himself to charge us out of pure pity..... And we lost to a very late goal.
