I think I'm quite pleased it's off, we could do with the time to clear a few knocks up, Porter has been mentioned, but Sweeney and MacKay went off last week as well.

Plus gives us a little extra time to bring in a player or two, and we can carry the feel good factor into next Friday's home game, which should put a couple of hundred more on the gate.

Although Oldham did say they offered Pools the chance to play the game tomorrow or Monday, hopefully we'll turn that chance down.

I am delighted it's off...the Windass factor, Oldham really talking the game up and how they would really go on all out attack today, our injury problems with Porter, lack of strikers etc..... now we have the chance to maybe have one or two players in place for when we play them in the rearranged game - and have a realistic chance of getting a good result.
In my opinion it would not have been good for us to play them today.
We should also tell them to f-uck off with the alternatives of playing tomorrow, Monday or Tuesday as they have suggested. We should play the match when it suits us for our own benefit, and give them no consideration at all.

this day and age you think more would be done about frozen pitches, when was our game last called off for a frozen pitch? i cant remember

The only thing you can do is have undersoil heating, that's not financially viable at this level, they had two layers of covers on and heaters running all night, but -5 is still going to cause problems.

I've been out on the fields with the dog this morning, if that game was at the Vic it would also be off, ground is rock hard at present.
