1) they used to be known as Woolwich Arsenal until 1971
2) they play in the east London borough of Orient
3) the famous terrace anthem of their fans is "Let 'em come"
4) the German Luftwaffe bombarded their ground during WWII and a UXB lies on top of the stand to this very day
5) their notorious hooligan firm the ICF (Institute of Chartered Foresters) is feared throughout the land.

I thought that the bewer in your avatar was going to show us her tits at some point, but no, round and round on the loop without so much as a fleeting glimpse of nipple.

So don't you start.

Used to be a laugh watching fans get off the District Line Underground at West Ham instead of going on to Plaistow and Upton Park.

Although Alf Garnett was a West Ham supporter - the actor who played that part, Warren Mitchell was / is a Spurs supporter.

Number 1 incorrect they were Thames Ironworks

Woolwich Arsenal ( formed 1891) became Arsenal(1914)

West Ham is the only football team to be mentioned in JK Rowling’s Harry Potter books.

I think you will find all 5 maybe incorrect Bob

But this is true, England captain John Terry broke the clubs record transfer fee received when he moved to Man Utd for 18m quid.

Five more interesting things about West Ham

1) Many people confuse West Ham with East Ham. They shouldn't really as the only London club George Eastham played for was Arsenal.
2) West Ham call themselves the irons because they actually started as a golf club.
3) Their first chairman, was Francis Bacon. It was he who chose their name.
4) A stopped dial clock tells the right time twice every day
5) Don't speak to a West Ham supporter if you are allergic to soap.

They were managed for a long time by John Lyall, who was the founder of the sugar & golden syrup dynasty. He left the club to form a briefly successful middle of the road singing duo with Dermot Gallagher.

Apparently this association worked so well at the start that Mr Gallagher was once quoted as saying "I wanna stay with you for the rest of my life".
I wonder what went wrong.

The club have been in financial difficulty since the death of owner and former Mastermind host Magnus Magnusson in 2007.
