For Elvis and anyone else who has had chew with parking ticket rarfs recently, I sent this email to the twats at Nottingham City Council last week:


I write with reference to the above penalty notice.

I am disgusted to have to bother writing this to you, as it should not have been issued.

I paid for a valid pay and display ticket which was clearly displayed in the window (scan of ticket is attached).

Perhaps the officer who issued the penalty notice has very poor eyesight, or did it out of boredom.

Either way, please confirm that this penalty notice has been cancelled.


I got a letter off them today saying "After fully considering all the points raised, on this occasion, the Penalty Charge Notice has been cancelled."

Well done Nottingham City Council !

For trying to fine him whilst parked legally?

No, for cancelling the fine, of course.

So they are admitting that the parking officer had very poor eyesight or was indeed bored. Quality!

I got one overturned a few weeks ago.
I had borrowed the father-in-law's car while mine was getting serviced, and our street is a resident's only parking zone.
I phoned the parking place to tell them who I was and the reason for it being there, and that it would be in the street for the day - but I still got a ticket!!!
I had to write in to get it overturned but they agreed to do it.
Pain in the arse, but if you have a valid case they should overturn it. They aren't so stupid as to make you pay for something you're not entitled to pay. Let's face it, they have a responsibility to minimise court costs etc to the public, and if they refused to overturn Mr Elvis' ticket and he lets it go to court (I sure as hell would) then they are not fulfilling their duty to the public.
They know they would lose and the bad publicity is something else they could do without.

i hear they got all heavy and pissed with him cos he mentioned it on here and they didnt like being ridiculed and they were threatening not to empty his bins and didnt want him to state on here that he won his case. apparently.

they wouldn't empty his bins cos they were full of body parts from traffic wardens
