Has anyone noticed how much more animated the bloke is since Wilson went? He was well on the pitch with Turner after Baby Davids goal yesterday! It makes you wonder if Wilson and Butterworth actually got on?

Butterworth was forced upon Wilson (and vice versa - oo,err missus) so there's a good chance they wouldn't have seen eye to eye on some things and friction would have been caused as a result

Since Wilson went, Butterworth has been a different guy on the touch line. As mentioned after the win the otehr Friday night he was very animated on the line - both him and Turner - and by the body language - whenever a msitake is made he 'feels' it - jumping, shouting, gesturing, turning away in frustration. Passion to succeed & desire to win is showing in him. Can't knock that. Let's hope it filters through to the players.

I thought that Wilson brought Butterworth in after he was appointed manager

I don't think it is actually.

Butterworth and Wilson had never worked together and didn't really know each other. I think recruitment at the time Wilson was appointed was mainly down to Chris Turner, who'll have known of Butterworth's work in his Darlo days. I think Danny Wilson's preferred assistant manager has generally been Frank Barlow.

Im pretty sure he told me he was just put with Danny and not appointed by Danny. Plus I rekon he would have put his cv forward for the job full time. confised

Going by the way IOR seem to work, I can imagine Wilson never brought him in and was appointed seperately.........whatever, since Wilsons gone, he seems a different bloke.

You're wrong Mr OO. Butterworth was brought in by CT/IOR not Wilson. When he was appointed I can't remember one quote from Wilson explaining why he'd brought him to the club. If my memory is right, Butterworth had spent the 2006 summer at the World cup scouting for the FA and is highly qualified (coaching badge and all that .......) Or am I talking shite again sctatchinghead

Butterworth was not brought to the club by Wilson at all.

Agreed that he looked more animated and passionate and even shared quite a few laughs with Monky as he waited to come on.

Had a rare forage into the Cyril on Saturday and was sat right near you Aido. Didnt know it was you till you posted above as I was gonna mention the incident
