In the past I've put all my photos from my hard drive onto cds no bother.

Now I've selected some from various cds and put them back onto my hard drive (18no) in order to then transfer them to another disc so that I can take them to the shop and print them.

BUT, when I'm trying to copy them from the hard drive to a cd I keep getting told that "Windows encountered a problem when trying to copy..."

I'm fking baffled and feel like hoofing this crappy old pc around the study.

Any help?

Put them onto a memory card and take that to a shop instead

If you get them up on the screen and rename them they should save into your hard drive . Bit tedious but I think you might be able to batch rename them.

If there's another easier way I'd be interested to hear it

Most media drives, including CD's have a limit to the amount of files that can be copied to the root directory.

Solution: Create a folder on your desktop. Copy all your pictures to it then copy the directory over to the CD.

Problem solved.

No you didn't!

Copying 1000 photos in a batch would cause a problem, copying one directory containing 1000 photos wouldn't.
