In his programme interview when he says "I don't know what I'm going to do when my loan finishes at the end of this month, I'll have to see what my options are"....

FFS I hope Pools are one of his options and betweent he lines he was hinting we could be an option and the reason he did the interview was because he was in Hartlepool talking to us about a return, I know it's too much to ask for....

He played the first 3 or 4 i think then as soon as De Vries was fully fit Dimi was dropped, Martinez is interested in another loan but from what Dimi has said, he wants to be guaranteed 1st team football.

i think we have a chance

so what reaction would dimi get if it was given out on the tannoy before stokes game that he was in goal for us......

just imagine that eh?

Biggest cheer of the season. No one minds someoen leaving us to try and fulfill their potential and live out their dreams (ie try to get into National squad) He would be welcomed back with open arms. Even more so because of the plight were in and cos of the keepers we have had.

a few hundred. it would show intent. However, Dimi won't suddenly solve all of our defensive problems, although he definately would help

As much as Dimi would probably like to come back here any competent keeper will do. Rather than paying Dimi 3k a week or whatever he is on i'm sure there's a few decent keepers available for only half of what he is on.
He fooked us off on a bosman when we deserved a fee for making him into the decent keeper he became.
He was a good goalkeeper but unless he's prepared to take a massive pay cut to what the other lads are on here then i'd sack the idea and look for someone else.
Obviously we desperately need a keeper and a striker so given choice between boydy and dimi the latter wouldn't be considered at all.

Lets also remember that Boydy knew he was going to be offered a move, yet still signed a contract & made sure we got a fee.

Dimi cost us nothing, we also got him on a tiny contract at first 'cos he was unknown.

The bosman ruling has worked just as much in the players favour as it has towards the clubs, it's his right too see out his contract and leave that way and I don't begrudge him it one bit.

For every player we've not got any funds from like Dimi due to a bosman, we've also saved money from signing the likes of tinkler, robertson, jones, liddle etc the list goes on.

Imagine the amount we would have spent on players over the years if the bosman ruling didn't exist?

I'd welcome dimi back with open arms, and open legs if it got him to sign.

I'd happily give him half an hour with our lass in the bedroom to go to town on her if it got him to sign back with pools.

You can't begrudge him making the move, he stayed loyal to us when we got relegated, helped us get promoted, 24 clean sheets i believe, then at 28/29 years old thought he'd try his hand at a go in the championship and maybe getting into the greek squad.

The grass isn't always greener and maybe it was a step too far for him.

Just get yourself back though dimi, you can have some of my parmo again in church street if you do.

He had a very good defence behind him. He wasn't a patch on Kevin Poole, Martin Hodge or Stephen Harper.

The other 2 i cant remember but i can't imagine him being anywhere near as good as harper, he's a premiership keeper who could have been an england international if he never sat on newcastles bench for the last 10 years.

So not as good as maybe 3 keepers from the last 20 years, two of whom weren't ours but were loaned from bigger better clubs. That doesn't sound much of an argument against trying to get him back. Personally I would rate Dimi slightly ahead of Hodge though there's little in it. I haven't seen better, not over more than a handful of games.

He was better then Poole and equally as good as the other two

I can't fathom how some people are bugged by the fact Dimi 'left' us for more money and the chance to play at a higher level or would every one on here refuse a pay rise????

I'm starting a new job next week, for the sole purpose of a pay rise, so i can't fault the big guy for moving on for more money.

I would like to see him come back but I wont be shedding any tears if we get someone else in.
What wages do u reckon he is on now, mind you might know being such good mates with him!
Lets say he's on 4k a week, he must be on that at least, Kyle was on 6-8, he's hardly going to accept 1.5k to sign for pools, I wouldn't!!! And I certainly wouldn't break the bank to bring him back.
So lets just look for someone else and forget about my smelly feet

rubbish!

the problem with 'someone else' is we have no guarantee we are getting someone any better than what we already have. With Dimi we know exactly what to expect, a Keeper who is almost good enough for the Championship.

We HAVE to sort the defense out as a priority

Dimi played 5 times for Swansea - 4 league & 1 league cup, letting in a total of 7 goals, 3 of those in one game v Birmingham.
I don't know how good or bad Swansea's defence is but a quick look at their stats seems to show that, like many other clubs, when their defence is tight they score fewer goals.

I'd argue that the defences that played in front of Kevin Poole and Stephen Harper were pretty good - made better by having a competent keeper behind them. Martin Hodge was at the tail end of his career when he came to Pools, he played some blinders but I can also remember some howlers (away to Orient where he let in 4 that ALB would have saved - I jest but they were not all un-saveable). I thought Alan Stephenson brought in when Hodge got injured was as good, also at the end of an illustrious career, even Barry Siddall did well behind one of our worst defences ever.

Overall Dimi gets my shout as the best we've had in goal - still prepared to learn, a great organiser of the defence, being able to read the game and an excellent keeper to boot.

I concur, Dimi is far and away the best goalie I have seen at Pools. Not only in terms of pure goalkeeping ability but his physical presence and his exceptional marshalling of the defence.

There is not a single player at Pools who I would not swap for him, this includes James Brown.
