I have followed Pools getting on for 40 years now and I sincerely think that, that display was one of the most spineless, effortless performances that we have ever put in and I am including the bad old days when we were just cr*p but the players at least tried.
I do applaud Ken Hodcroft and IOR for the money they have put into the Club and thank them for the stability but now I can't honestly see where we go from here.
If it is true that we will not be strengthening in January then relegation is a nailed on fact.We need at least 8 wins from the remaining fixtures and looking at the remaining matches can any of you see where we will get them from?
Something is sadly wrong with our Team and I honestly do not know what it is.Are they good enough.........I would say with a little bit of strengthening....Yes.........Are they up for the fight then we all know the answer to that.I know that we have come from behind on numerous occassions but it has been a while ago now hasn't it.
Mr. Hodcroft bemoans the lower attendences......who the hell in their right minds is going to spend 18/20 quid plus family tickets plus drink/food to see the kind of commitment that was served up today.Never have I seen such a spineless effortless display from a Hartlepool Team and I for one and all the people I stand with will not put up with it for much longer. How long before the attendances average around 2500...........I don't think it will be long in coming.Mr. Hodcroft if you read this board get your cheque book out before it is too late and get in a decent Manager who knows what he is doing...........I await to be shot down

Thanks for the comment Mr. I and I sincerely appreciate it but there are those with rose tinted glasses who think that everything will turn out alright.Without commitment from the board and the players then it will not be alright and we all know what relegation feels like.........its like a death in the family and I do not want to experience that again

sad to say it but with the current set of players relegation is a cert for me, none apart from a few are good enough, getting too old, past their best etc etc etc

didnt we tie a few up to new contracts last summer? if so there goes more money to buy them out!

I agree with nearly all you say, except..... relegation is not like a death in the family, it's just a game at the end of the day, death it is not.

You are right Snowy I may have over emphasised the feeling and I apologise for that as most of us older ones have lost loved ones at one stage or another and nothing regarding Football comes close to it but I hope that you know what I mean............

Some of our better players are out of contract in the summer, liddle, robson, porter. However, i'm sure that barratt, budz, monkhouse, nelson, mccunnie are also out of contract.

The problem with the IOR/Hodcroft ideas are is that it's very unlikely somebody will want to plough 9 million into us and get no return.

He'll be just as pissed off as we are.
