Call me back, Mr Winter, when there's some evidence Wilson was sacked for footballing reasons.
Or even "sacked" full stop.

i emailed him the other day after he basically slagged off the owners & the fans for getting rid/wanting rid of Wilson .....

I said: Danny Wilson thought it was acceptable for a professional league club to only have 3 recognised defenders, all of which are centre-backs, and you have the cheek to call him an excellent manager? Shows how much you know about football!

Reply: At this time of festive spirit and good will to all men, I am sure that you do not want to come across as ignorant and arrogant. However, you are talking about a manager who presided over the most syuccessive season in the clubs history in terms of results then managed them to their second highest ever League finish. This season despite having a reduced budget he again was managing a side that was entertaining and punching well above its weight in terms of its income and support. He was loved and respected by his players and also by footnball people in the game, including myself. I personally will back those judgements over yours. Best Wishes Jeff

What a shame, my first suspicions about the bloke were correct, he's a 'lovely lovely person'. He'd won me around during his TFM days as well.

"He was loved and respected by his players and also by footnball people in the game, including myself."

How the fook does working for a shit local radio station in Darlington constitute being among 'football people in the game?' Look Jeffery, I've been to Scunthorpe today watching Danny Wilsons legacy, and it wasn't fooking pretty let me tell you.

I take it you have read the article? Apart from the personnel assassination that are totally pointless because lm sure he cares. Does no one care to pick up on any of the points in the article for discussion in a constructive manner?

We should all take the blame for him setting himself up for the Swindon job....... why should we read any of the rest of his shit column after the crap he's come up with there?
Will he now apologise? Will he f-uck. He's made himself look a grade A twat and he more than likely won't even recognise the fact
At least with message boards the fans get their chance to put their points across in a reasonable manner as to why they wanted Wilson out, and also in an unreasonable psychopathic manner towards people like ex referees who are not in a position to comment, just because they know people inside the game. By his reckoning, because most of us don't have a career in politics, therefore we would not be able to pass comment on politicians or the state of the country. Bollocks. If I'm paying my money to watch my team, I can say what the hell I like about the affairs of MY football club.
The sooner people involved in the game accept that these forums are a barometer of fans' opinions, and not something to be stopped at the first opportunity like some chairmen and managers have done, the better. For every idiot on the boards, there must be a hundred people with valid opinions, and as varied as you could imagine. There are loads of quality posters on here all with differing opinions but all worth reading.
Long live the football message boards.

Isn't it hilarious how football 'insiders' seem to operate under the demented delusion that the game of football is so complex, somewhere between astro physics and nuclear fusion theory, that only they have the mystic capabilities to comprehend and understand this mystifying game that is above the mental capabilities of the ordinary fan. I can think of no other sport where this shite is trotted out with monotonous regularity, that because a 'fan' has not played the game at the 'insiders' level they are incapable of fully understanding the game. This, from some of the thickest, densest, doziest, educationally underachieving people, trying to make the simplest of games into a science ... incredible!

Some good points and yes the club do read these sites and note posts on a regular basis. I think the mistake MutleyRules might be making, that it is comical for someone to be banned from the ground for freedom of speech. What you must remember, this could apply to you one day. Funny old life!

Thin and Crusty: So, are you going to retract your article and comments about pools and its fans, since Wilson was applying for other jobs all along?

Are you C.T or K.H? stpid

Freedom of speech was the point of the post and how it could apply to anyone who posts do not concur with others.
