George II, a true crackpot Darlo chairman;

http://www.journallive.co.uk/newcastle- ... -22550890/

"I’d expect to get 20,000 in the Championship. I think that’s as many as you’d get. We’ve only got a hard core of 2,000.”

stpid stpid stpid stpid   rolfl rolfl rolfl rolfl

"the strategy’s never changed, to get into League One and eventually the Championship – and get bums on seats. I’ve tried everything. We’ve had free schools, free under-sevens, ten-year-olds in free, I’ve even brought an Indian chap (Raj Singh) in as vice-president because I don’t see a lot of Indian lads in the stadium.”

I think he accidently added an extra zero to the end of that total. Seriously though, there is no chance in hell of us getting anywhere near that total.

Darlo players could be worshiped like Tendulkar and Dhoni now they have an 'Indian chap' on board, millions of kids smoking tabs in tribute to Alan White.

I love the way in these deluded plans they always casually breeze through league one as if it's some sort of stroll, I mean this from a club who have been in the fourth division for approaching 20 years.

How they must wish for a 'normal' chairman. Mind you, you probably have to be mad to want to run Darlington Football Club! rolfl

Classic post from Darlo_Pete when discussing the Houghton interview:

"If we demolished a stand, then there wouldn't be 20000 seats left or would we rebuild the stand when we got into the Championship?"

Is he being serious, joking, ironic or deluded? rolfl

They'd do better to have Fat Boy Slim on the board so as to woo the Sussex contingent.

Darlington are a road accident looking for an accident blockspot... and they drive into it with alarming frequency.

2000 was nearly 9 years ago.

I take it you meant 2010?

Theoretically, it is still possible.

No Tardis needed.

Simply get promoted this season, get promoted next season, and kick off in the Championship August 2010.

Easy as that.

No. Your chairman said that in an interview two years ago.

Wahey!!! I didn't realise it was that easy. In that case we will be in the premier league in two years. Can't wait.

Come on chaps, its a piece of piss.

Houghton said Championship by 2010 ("the five year plan".....every team has a 5 year plan these days), therefore it must happen. Easy.

Hitler had a four year plan and a thousand year plan. I think your Mr H should lean towards the latter version.
