the first time I can remember Pools on Shoot was vs Workington Reds and we won 3-0 (I think we had a Man City type strip that season) - won't Tyne Tees have an archive of stuff? I t's a great opportunity for someone at Pools to contact them in our centenary season to be able to put together a dvd of all those Shoot games, plus all the highlights they will have from the Back Page programme and stuff going back to the 80's and 90's

Over to you Pools!!! Elvis could you set the ball in motion with something like this??? You know some people at the club abd stuff.............

I'm surprised the club didn't claim rights to owning the archive.

Ive got the video against rochdale somewhere, ive moved that many times over the years that it don't no where it is now.
Did pools win 4-0 sctatchinghead

I no Dobson scored and i think Hogan got a penalty

I might have even give the video to Dobba because his ex- wife destroyed all his video's of his goals. By the way i am not a stalker of his, he's my cousin

I sponsored the match ball for that Rochdale game - we were also sponsoring Roy Hogan's kit as well, so well chuffed when he scored the penalty.
I watched the game from the directors box - I use the term 'box' loosely as it was a few rows of seats in the old wooden stand.

Great remembering that again.

I've got the original film from Sporting Inquest in 1961. Pools beat Millwall 1-0 in the FA Cup and then they showed it in the Town Hall with a panel commenting on it. The panel were Len Shackleton, George Hardwick, Keith Wolstenholme and Ray Middleton and my grandad. The film was in a rusty cannister in my grandad's desk when he died alongwith some Hartlepools United Div III North buttonhole badges and some team pic postcards from 1926.

I got it tranferred to DVD a few years back and there is about 10 minutes of action- no sound. Watty Moore looks very good. I offered the club it but they weren't interested... seems odd as I didn't want any money and I thought lots of older fans would love a copy.

University of Teesside have an archive with lots of old BBC film in it. They'll do copies reasonably cheap but it takes a while and lots of it isn't sorted through yet. Once it is there is sure to be some Pools stuff in there- I'm sure I saw some footage from the pre-Vic ground once.

Won't be back for a while but I'll see if anybody can do me some copies of the DVD (no burner on my computer) and then post you a few to dish out to any interested bunkerites. I loved watching players I'd heard of but never expected to see so it would be daft not to share it.

It's probably fair to say the Bikini edges out Thursdays at the Gemini but the drinks cost a lot more! They get a lot of good bands on but I can't afford to get to them all until I get a bit more work in. What band were you in? I'll see if I can find any Toulousains with happy memories and little fireballs in tow.

This is getting a bit weird- I used to live round the corner from the Adelphi, close to The Housemartin's spiritual home in Grafton Street. You rarely got topless sunbathers in The Grafton or St Johns but the atmosphere was similar to The Bikini if you drank enough Stella!
