I've bought one of those HD video camera thingys right, but if I then connect it to my old pc and copy the fillum to dvd will that work? Will it still be HD if written by an old dvd burner? Will it work on my dvd player or do I need a blue ray thingymajiggle?

It's a 720p and not a 1080p camera if that makes any difference. sctatchinghead

Cos Mr Fireball said if we all spend a load of money it'll make the recession go away.

And he is a economics expert innit.

If you play direct from the camera it will stay HD, you will lose the HD if you burn it to disc, unless you burn it to a Blu-Ray disc via a BluRay disc burner (about £300 quid)

I thought that might be the case. sadx

So when I plug the camera into the telly with the hdmi lead it's ok, but once I fill the 8gb card and save the stuff somewhere else will it still be able to be burnt to a normal dvd from the pc or will the normal dvd not be able to handle the hd? sctatchinghead

Not sure you can burn that much info to a normal DVD, they hold 4.7GB normally, guess you need a memory card for each porno shoot you do mate

I got a HD camera and found the best way to play back the fillums is to stick the files on a hard drive and plug it into my PS3 which will play them direct. The hard drive is also a handy way to store and back up the files, plus it saves having loads of discs everywhere.

So I buy an external hard drive?

Cool.

How do I connect that to my telly?

And what is a PS3?

Playstation 3, it has a usb port that will take most hard drives (have to be FAT 32 format - which most are).

If you have a laptop you could probably play the files via that if you can connect it to your TV.

I don't have a games machine.

Or a laptop.

Can I connect an external hard drive to my dvd player or direct to the telly?

There are some special media centre hard drives you can get which will do this, but they are a lot more expensive than regular ones.

One example here...

Can you get tellys with USB ports to connect to?

Or dvd players?

Or would that be too simple?

That would be nice, but not available as yet I reckon.

The media centre hard drives will connect via scart, composite or hmdi cable.
